SUMMARY
- The Warriors defeated the Rockets 133-110 with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson scoring 29 points each.
- Steve Kerr praised Trayce Jackson-Davis for working together with Draymond Green to execute defensive plays.
Steve Kerr seemed extremely pleased with the outcome of the most recent Golden State Warriors game. Competing in the Play-In Tournament is a huge letdown. But the Warriors rather be in the Play-Ins instead of missing the playoffs. Their recent game against the Houston Rockets would have determined their stay among the Play-In berths. However, the Warriors facilitated great plays on both sides of the floor to secure a 133-110 win.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson led the Warriors to an easy win. Each of them had 29 points. Thompson shot an impressive 7-11 from the three-point range. There were a few bumps along the way with the way the Warriors chose to execute plays. They also didn’t have Andrew Wiggins during the fourth quarter. Regardless, they’ve fixed themselves as the 10th seed giving them an automatic chance to compete in the Play-Ins.
Steve Kerr may consider keeping Trayce Jackson-Davis in the starting lineup
Trayce Jackson-Davis was in full form against Houston. He took over on both sides of the floor finishing with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, one block, and one steal. Kerr praised Jackson-Davis for gelling with Draymond Green well. He said, “Trayce and Draymond together have changed our team. I mean it’s pretty dramatic, just the rim protection, the rebounding that Trayce gives us, and what that allows Draymond to do l. As a rookie, it’s amazing what he’s doing.”
Trayce assumed a starting position after Jonathan Kuminga was sidelined due to a knee injury. The Warriors have gone 5-0 with Jackson-Davis playing as a starter. Kerr admitted it would be hard to give up on his current lineup when Kuminga returns.
“You know, we’ve established something here for years. If we’re playing well, we generally keep the same starting lineup. I mean, I’ve kept Steph and Draymond out of the starting lineup when they’ve been in that situation. We’ll see how we play it.” Trayce also recorded his first 20-point game. His game shows slow but impactful progress.
Ime Udoka accepts defeat and gives props to Steve Kerr’s squad
Ime Udoka wasn’t happy to see his team lose at the most crucial stage of the regular season. During the post-game press conference, Udoka claimed his players did not look tough enough on the floor. He said, “It looked like the moment was too big for a lot of players out there. Looked like deer in headlights a little bit. Either looked soft or scared, one or the other.”

Unlike Steve Kerr and the Warriors, the Rockets are drifting further away from a Play-In window. They started the season very strong, somehow reaching the top spots in the Western Conference. However, consistency is what the Rockets lack. While their defense can be a problem for the opposition, their offense isn’t powerful enough unlike the Warriors.
