- Bobby Portis scored 29 points and 10 rebounds to help the Bucks win Game 5 vs Pacers.
- Portis revealed his source for motivation during the courtside interview.
Bobby Portis played a pivotal role in helping the Milwaukee Bucks keep their postseason aspirations. The Bucks and Indiana Pacers have matched up for the first round of the NBA postseason. Although the Bucks should have been clear-cut favorites to win this series, injuries to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard let the Pacers take a commanding 3-1 lead on them.
Since it is quite rare for a team to come back from being down 3-1, many assumed that this series would be over in 5 games. However, Portis and the other members of the Bucks stepped up in Game 5 and used the momentum from their home crowd to get a much-needed win and force a Game 6. After the game had concluded, Portis was interviewed and questioned about his impressive performance.
Bobby Portis scored 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to victory
In the absence of the main franchise stars, other key players on the roster such as Bobby Portis and Khris Middleton stepped up to the moment and got this win for the Bucks. Portis finished the night scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Khris Middleton scored 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists.
While Middleton has put up impressive postseason performances in the past, this was Bobby Portis’ playoff career high. Moreover, it came in a much-needed elimination game. After the match, Portis was asked about his mindset heading into this match.
Portis continued, “So I just read the guys that’s around. Not necessarily the guy that’s guarding me…You know they tried to play a lot of 1 on 1… I just took advantage of it.”
There is no denying that the Bucks’ roster is pleased with Bobby and his attempt to make up for his subpar performance in Game 4. Now that the series is at 3-2, fans are left wondering how it could potentially unfold.
Can the Bucks make a comeback in this series vs Pacers?
It is always quite bold to predict a 3-1 comeback for any team. Especially with the status of both their main stars questionable. Although it is possible for Giannis and Dame to return for Game 7, fans are not optimistic that both of them will be on the court this series. A courtside reporter revealed that both might play in Game 6 but that the Bucks’ organization is yet to confirm their availability.

Given that the Bucks have the better record, all they need to do at the moment is win Game 6 at Indiana. If they are able to do so, they will force a Game 7 back in Milwaukee and have a good chance at making a comeback in this series. However, they are not expected to do so at this point in time.
