- George expressed his gratefulness over stars such as Brandon Miller viewing him in that light.
Paul George was recently questioned about his thoughts on being considered as one of the greatest players of all time. As the majority of NBA fans will be aware, PG is a veteran star currently playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. He also hosts a podcast and recently had former NBA star Matt Barnes appear for an episode.
In their recent episode of “Podcast P,” Barnes questioned George about his feelings after several young basketball stars held him to the same standard as Michael Jordan or LeBron James. Since many NBA fans might not even know about these opinions, a closer look at the situation is required
Paul George never considered himself to be an NBA GOAT
Every player who makes it to the NBA and establishes himself as the face of a franchise and a certified star has the right to believe in their own greatness. Paul George did just that during his time with the Indiana Pacers and even went toe to toe with LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
Fans who have witnessed PG in action will agree that he is one of the most skilled players of the modern era. There are very few NBA stars of his size who can handle the ball as well or control the pace of the game. George was questioned by Matt Barnes on his thoughts since several young upcoming basketball stars consider him to be their GOAT.
“Honestly bro it’s a blessing because like I never approached the game…I always felt like I was chasing someone. I was tryna chase and be like Kobe, be like T-Mac. Those were the guys that I looked up to…Now I’m hearing these stories of kids having that similar approach to me because I mean let’s be honest, it could be Bron it could be KD all of these guys they can be like these are my GOATs. I just felt like I always tried to play the game the right way.”
The Clippers star certainly seemed to take others’ acknowledgment of himself with humility. Since most fans consider LeBron or MJ as the GOAT, one must wonder which players truly hold PG to the same standard.
Brandon Miller and Kiyan Anthony hold PG over LeBron James or Michael Jordan
As Paul George discussed his feelings over being considered a GOAT, he mentioned that Charlotte Hornets star Brandon Miller is one of the young stars who hold him at the same level as Micahel Jordan or LeBron James. After all, Miller has made his support of PG quite clear.
