The Los Angeles Lakers traveled to Boston recently to play against the Celtics. Fans knew that they could expect a good old night of entertaining basketball. But what we did not expect was the drama toward the end of the game. For context, the Lakers lost the game 121-125. LeBron James was once again the star of the night, with 41 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Apart from the performance he put in, King James also attracted plenty of attention at the end of the game.

In the fourth quarter, just a few seconds before the end of regulation, James drove to the rim for a left-handed layup. This was when Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum slapped LeBron’s left arm, which was a clear foul. However, to LeBron’s dismay, the officials of the night did not call the foul. LeBron fell to the floor and was visibly and understandably upset with the refereeing decisions. It pretty much sums up the way the Lakers’ season has been going, with multiple calls going against them in recent months.
What did LeBron James say about the refereeing decisions?
After the game, King James was quick to take it to Twitter to express his opinions on the issue. He wrote, “That one hurt BIG TIME!!! I don’t understand.”

Along with that, reporters managed to get hold of him in the locker room at the TD Garden as well. In the clip that the media captured, LeBron could be seen upset, which shouldn’t be all that surprising considering what went down on the night. He also said that other players in the league get to shoot “double-digit” free-throws during a game but that is not the case with him. What the Lakers superstar said is true if we are being honest, he only attempts 6.2 free-throws per game this season. The stat shows that LeBron does not have many whistles going his way.

On the night, Eric Lewis, Jacyn Goble, and Andy Nagy were the officials. This has not been the first time that LeBron has had a no-call. The Lakers have lost multiple games this season due to referee error and it looks like the Celtics game might be where they draw the line. The NBA has not commented on the issue as of yet, as we await to see how this plays out.
