Kevin Durant is aware of the severity of Achilles’ issues. Aaron Rodgers‘ injury and subsequent stretcher out of his Monday Night Football debut for his new team made Durant sympathize with the athlete. This is something that no athlete wants to witness. KD’s tweet aptly captures his feelings.
Durant reacted to the injury on X. The Phoenix Suns superstar is optimistic and wrote, “I’m so sick right now. Get well soon 8…”. The Super Bowl Champion’s arrival was met with excitement as his debut performance became one to look forward to. Thus, the fans were eagerly waiting for him to showcase his prowess in the game against the Buffalo Bills. Their hopes went in vain as the four-time NFL MVP suffered an ankle injury in the first series with his new team.

Following a sack from Leonard Floyd, Rodgers struggled to carry on in his debut and eventually had to give in. He was subsequently driven to the locker room, where he was ruled out for the rest of the game. Many in the NFL believe it is an Achilles injury, which may jeopardize the Jets’ playoff prospects and even terminate Rodgers’ career. Their backup quarterback, Zach Wilson, helped the club win the game, but their chances remain limited without Rodgers.
Achilles injuries in any sport can, sadly, spell the end of a player’s career. Kevin Durant was one of the players who suffered an injury in the 2019 NBA Finals that took him a year to recover from.
Kevin Durant went through an Achilles injury in 2019
NBA great Kevin Durant is all too familiar with the agony. He notoriously tore his Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, thereby ending the Golden State Warriors dynasty. Durant suffered a calf injury while playing against the Houston Rockets. He missed nine playoff games but was able to return in time for the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

With his side behind 3-1, it seemed essential. Much was expected of him going into Game 5. Instead, he worsened the condition by rupturing his Achilles tendon. Following Kevin Durant’s injury, a video of his calf shaking circulated, indicating that the Achilles tendon had popped. On Monday night, a close-up of Rodgers’ calf appeared to reveal a similar movement, which is a terrible sign for the Jets.
Head coach Robert Saleh is concerned about an Achilles injury and says, “It’s not good.” Durant returned to the floor 552 days after tearing his Achilles tendon. Hopefully, this is not the same injury for the 39-year-old Rodgers, who is trying to start over with the Jets.
