Anthony Davis delivered high praise towards LeBron James after their most recent game against the Houston Rockets. As fans should certainly be aware, AD and LeBron are the faces of the Lakers and managed to win the team an NBA championship back in 2020.
Although LeBron has grown much older since then, one could argue that his playstyle is yet to take a serious hit given the impressive performances that we have seen so far from him this season.
After King James made an incredible 360-degree layup and helped the Lakers win their match against the Rockets, Davis was soon interviewed and asked to share his thoughts on his veteran teammate. Now that we have the context of the situation, let us take a closer look and find out more.
Anthony Davis is impressed with LeBron James’ latest move against the Rockets
While it is easy to summarize that LeBron has been playing at a high level in Year 21, that is quite a brief description of his performances at this stage in his NBA career. AD knows LeBron better than most of us and knows what King James is still capable of accomplishing.
When he was asked about LeBron’s unexpected trick shot, Davis ended up revealing that this was quite ordinary behavior that didn’t really surprise him a great deal.
“Crazy layup, crazy shot. We got a tech for it so we know that was crazy…But like I said before…I think at this point of his career he’s done everything, so he literally goes out and just tries stuff and see what works.”

AD certainly gets his perspective across quite well. While there is no denying that LeBron’s move caught the younger and newer Lakers off guard, Davis knows that King James has made similar and tougher shots throughout his career.
Since LeBron has found success while managing to refine his game and keep up with the times, he certainly has the authority to try whatever he wants and see if things end up working out. LeBron’s critics might want to argue that King James took a “bad shot” and just got lucky. On the other hand, his fans will claim that any bad shot LeBron takes has a good chance to go in.
