- King James believes in his team despite the dominance of the Nuggets over the Lakers this season.
With the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets’ first-round matchup only a few days away from commencing, both teams have been undergoing serious preparation for this 7-game series between two Western Conference contenders. LeBron James was recently interviewed and asked to share his thoughts about his own team and their upcoming opponents.
To the few who might not be aware, the Nuggets swept the Lakers in the WCF last year and have not lost a single time to the team this season. While the Lakers undoubtedly have a good chance to change the narrative about these two teams in their upcoming series, LeBron shared quite a balanced point of view and remained humble when asked about the Lakers’ preparations heading into this first-round series.
LeBron James delivers high praise for Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets
Since LeBron is the most accomplished active player in the league and widely regarded as the greatest player in the history of the NBA, one may have assumed that he continues to underestimate the Nuggets despite the success that Denver has received in their games against the Lakers. However, the truth was brought to light during a recent interview of the Lakers’ star.
“We just gotta be better. All around I mean obviously it’s a great team that we’re playing against. A team that won a championship so they been in a lot of big games and know what they want to get to late game so you know we just have to be very disciplined have our mind into it throughout the course of 48 minutes or however long it takes…”
There is no denying that LeBron made a valid point while concluding his speech to the media. A series is not won through lengthy discussions and the viewing of game footage. Instead, the outcome is decided on the court during those 48 or longer minutes of game time.
King James continues to show faith in the Lakers to win this series
Since LeBron and the Lakers have not tasted victory against the Nuggets for almost 2 years, fans may have assumed that his belief and faith in his team has taken a beating in recent times. However, LeBron made his confidence in his team clear by stating that they knew what they were capable of doing.
