Aaron Rodgers shocked the world with a speedy recovery after suffering from a ruptured Achilles in September. The NFL legend made his debut for the New York Jets this season. He was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the Jets in exchange for three 2023 draft picks and a conditional 2024 draft pick. Rodgers was traded alongside the Packers’ 2023 first and fifth-round picks.
Rodgers debuted for the Jets against the Buffalo Bills, but it all came crashing down very quickly. Considering that it was an Achilles Tendon tear, fans expected him to be out for probably the rest of the season. However, Rodgers opted to get surgery which included a “speed bridge” procedure. This step is to help speed up the healing process and get the athlete back on his feet quicker. Within 11 weeks, Rodgers was cleared for practice.

Currently, Aaron Rodgers is expected to appear for the 21-day practice period. Training staff will monitor his progress and ability to play in full form. Rodgers aims to return in December but isn’t very sure about it yet. He is one of the oldest players in the league at the moment as he turns 40 in December. The Jets coaching staff will have to factor in his age and how he will be able to keep up with the injury as well.
Kevin Durant missed 552 days of NBA action with a ruptured Achilles tendon
Aaron Rodgers certainly surprised a lot of people by appearing for practice. Such injuries take an extended period to heal, and players usually take a lot of precautions before competing full-fledged. For example, Kevin Durant tore his Achilles tendon back in 2019 during the NBA Finals series between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors.
Durant spent quite a lot of time in recovery and made sure he was fully able to take damage without feeling discomfort as well. Between the 2019 NBA Finals and the start of the 2019-2020 season, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets. He missed his first season and made his Nets debut in December 2020. He took 552 days before making a return to the court.
Guys like Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson had to wait TWO years before they could even play a game and you telling me old ass Aaron Rodgers is practicing THREE months after an Achilles tear??? Get tf on with that bullshit 😂😂

Fans were baffled by Aaron Rodgers’ quick recovery as one of them said, “Aaron Rodgers Achilles recovery, 80 days. Kevin Durant, 552 days. But also KD’s Achilles is roughly 6 feet long.” Another fan said, “Aaron is built different.” Similarly, Kobe Bryant and many other athletes took significant time off after rupturing their Achilles tendon. More updates are expected to be given on Rodgers soon over the next couple of weeks.
