The Golden State Warriors entered the 2023-24 NBA season as one of the strongest teams. Even after letting Jordan Poole go to the Washington Wizards, Steph Curry and Co. were still boasting a promising roster that could surely make it to the postseason. They acquired Chris Paul from the Phoenix Suns, which raised eyebrows at the time.

The main reason for that would be the similarities CP3 shares with Steph Curry in terms of play style and mentality. Both of them are elite shooters and point guards, and Paul would have to play second fiddle to Steph. Moreover, his age didn’t impress Dub Nation as well. Just like the NBA world expected, the Warriors have been having issues with scoring in recent games as well.
Steph Curry has been alone in offense for the Warriors so far
The Warriors have a record of 6-5 right now after enduring three consecutive losses. They went on a 5-game winning streak after losing to the Suns on opening night, but it hasn’t been bright since then. In 11 games, Steph has been averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. Moreover, he is one of the only two players to score more than 20 points. The other player is Dario Saric.

The stat speaks at length about the Warriors’ offense 11 games into the season. It looks like they have been depending on The Chef far too much, a decision that could backfire horribly in the latter stages of the regular season.
Steve Kerr speaks out about the Warriors’ offensive shortcomings
Recently, the Warriors head coach admitted that Steph has been the lone star for far too long. He said to the media, “No question. We need some scoring and playmaking from elsewhere.”

That will be a huge admission coming from the leader of the Warriors players himself. This is not the first time The Dubs have been caught relying on Steph too much in recent years. The superstar is not getting any younger at 35 years old, and playing at his 100% every game surely increases the risk of injuries.
Moreover, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins also have to step up for the team, along with Chris Paul. Although CP3 has been contributing well in terms of playmaking and assists, scoring is one of his strengths. Klay’s downfall has been tough for Dub Nation to see, which has been mainly because of his injury-prone career.
It will be interesting to see how the Warriors back Steph up when needed. It must be said that he will not be able to perform at his best every game, even though he has set those expectations for himself.
