SUMMARY
- At the end of the Warriors vs. Hornets game, Grant Williams and Miles Bridges were involved in a heated scuffle with Lester Quinones.
- NBA veteran Draymond Green spoke on Williams' character and claimed that he was putting on a fake persona.
The world is currently witnessing a new side to Grant Williams. Lately, his choices have not necessarily worked out in his favor either. Recently, the 25-year-old was shipped from the Dallas Mavericks to the Charlotte Hornets. Sources claim that the Mavericks were not happy about his character or presence in the locker room. Teams have been strict on players putting their maximum efforts into the sport alone. However, emotions have always gotten the best of many.
With the Hornets, Grant has been playing a prominent role which has also helped him be more productive on the floor. In five games, he has averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, which are technically career-highs in those categories. During a recent matchup against the Golden State Warriors, Grant, and Miles Bridges were involved in a heated scuffle with Lester Quinones. This was based on the unwritten rule of accumulating points with the game’s shot clock running out while teams are in the lead.
Draymond Green gave Grant Williams a reality based on his experience
Draymond Green took a moment to address the brawl that broke out during the Warriors vs. Hornets game. The 4x NBA Champion has had a fair of scuffles on the court with him being viewed in a bad light. Green said, “I don’t really understand why people get so mad at scoring at the end of the game… If y’all were winning by 13 points, would you be mad if they laid the ball up? I doubt it. It’s kind of like a sore loser kind of thing.”
He doubled on Grant Williams’ reaction to Quinones laying in the ball at the end of regulation. “But Grant Williams has to stop it, man. Being this tough guy is going absolutely wrong for him. He’s a really nice guy. For some reason, he keeps trying to jump on the unlikeable side. Let me tell you, it’s not always fun out here. It’s not always a good time,” he added.

“I’m really sick of guys with this [mentality]. Bro, you should’ve done that a long time ago. Yeah, man. Pray for Grant Williams,” Green concluded. The veteran also pointed out that Grant’s bad guy persona was what threw him out of Dallas. He explained that Williams shouldn’t be acting erratically especially if he’s the First Vice President of the Players Association.
What did Lester Quinones say to Grant Williams during the scuffle?
Grant Williams was seemingly ticked off after the ex-two-way player scored with under 10 seconds left in regulation. This isn’t the only time fights have erupted on this matter. Players generally do not appreciate when the winning time scores despite having a major lead at the end of the game.

During the scuffle, coaches and players all rushed to pull the players back before the fight escalated. Quinones was seen telling Grant, “You a b*tch” multiple times before it settled down eventually. This was probably what ended up aggravating Grant Williams even more as well. The Warriors walked home with the victory despite Bridges’ efforts to lead the team.
