In his latest composition “Fear of Heights”, the fourth track from his 2023 album “For All the Dogs”, Drake appears as if he had dissed his former girlfriend Rihanna and her present beau A$AP Rocky. The rap artist, who reportedly had an on-and-off romance with Rihanna from 2009 through 2016, seemed to have written the first verse of the new track exclusively targeting her, making several references to their past while additionally criticizing her marriage with Rocky.
The track’s title, Fear of Heights, could potentially be an unmistakable allusion to Rihanna’s widely known phobia of altitudes. In the song, the “God’s Plan” rapper sings: “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you? That could never be. Gyal can’t ruin me,” indicating that he got over the mystery woman some time ago.

Drake once disclosed his prior expectations to have a picture-perfect family with pop star Rihanna on LeBron James‘ HBO television program, “The Shop”. When he glanced back on his life, he realized that although his early aspirations were to settle down with her and start a happily-ever-after family, the realities of life had pushed him towards another trajectory.
“As life takes shape and teaches you your own lessons, I end up in this situation where I don’t have the fairy tale, like, ‘Oh, Drake started a family with Rihanna and this is like so perfect, it looks so good on paper. By the way, I wanted that too at one time“, he said.
He acknowledged that what would have appeared great on paper might not have been in line with the direction life chose for him. He allegedly claims that he’s no longer hung up on Rihanna after all these years.
Fans believe Rihanna was called out by Drake in his latest song
The “One Dance” rap artist sings the lyrics: “That is not possible. Gyal cannot destroy me”. After that, he makes mockery of the woman’s present relationship, “Better him than me.” Continuing, “Better it’s not me.” He may have been attempting to put shade on ASAP Rocky, sarcastically indicating that Rihanna had perhaps chosen the “better” in an attempt to seek the “best.”

Fans are persistently believing that the song directs attention towards Rihanna, and some disapprove of Drake’s new lyrics. They went to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their perspectives on this subject. When Drake attacked his rumored ex, fans expressed astonishment at how he chose to go after the ‘Umbrella’ singer, whose fan following is as dedicated as they come.
Some even wrote about how he’d been head over heels for Rihanna, but now acts like nothing ever happened. Netizens even said Drake is playing ‘victim’ as things didn’t go as he planned, so he’s made it his job to begin dissing her. But apparently, the entire situation doesn’t bother Rihanna, since she hasn’t made any comments regarding this yet.
