Dwight Howard is someone who has brought a lot of intensity to the game of basketball. Over the years, we remember him for his outstanding defensive contributions to the game. He is specifically known for his athleticism as well. He was a very creative person when it came to playing bully ball within the paint, which is what set him aside from other players. Howard was one of the last ones you could call a traditional center.
It has been a while since we’ve seen the 3x Defensive Player of the Year compete on American soil. In November 2022, he confirmed his arrival in Taiwan to play for the Taoyuan Leopards in the T1 League. Howard was an instant hit mainly because he came from NBA royalty. But he beat a lot of expectations set by fans. Within the first year of his stint overseas, Howard became an All-Star Game MVP, All-Star Game Most Famous Player, rebounds leader, and T1’s Most Valuable Import.

Additionally, he was named an All-T1 League First-Team and All-Defensive First-Team player. While he wasn’t known for being the best shooter in the NBA, Dwight Howard got himself the opportunity to participate in the Three-Point Contest during the T1 League All-Star Games. It is safe to say the ex-NBA player is still doing well for himself.
Dwight Howard wants to play for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics
During his final few years in the NBA, Dwight Howard got to experience what it felt like to hold the Larry O’Brien trophy. He won his first only NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, starring alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Between 2020-21, Howard signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, a team that wasn’t necessarily having the best time reaching a deep playoff run. After that deal was over, he returned to Los Angeles for his final stint in the NBA.
Dwight Howard had a great time playing in the United States. He also participated for Team USA on three different occasions earning two gold medals and one bronze from the 2006 FIBA World Cup. Recently, USAB has been quite the trending topic following their 2023 FIBA World Cup stint. With the 2024 Paris Olympics quick, players are already counting themselves in to compete next year.
