The 41-year-old pop queen Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account on Saturday, shortly after dropping a new track, “Mind Your Business”, collaborated with will.i.am.
After the incident with Victor Wembanyama, some expressed sympathy towards her whereas others harshly criticized her, claiming that she was lying. Although she never reacted to the hate comments, it might be possible that she deactivated her Instagram, hoping to take a break from them.
When fans attempted to access the singer’s Instagram profile, they were devastated to discover that it had been taken down. The “Gimme More” singer’s Instagram profile was no further accessible and the reason for taking down her account remains uncertain. Fans are apprehensive about when she might come back on social media.

Before deactivating, she had posted a clip the previous evening displaying her and her husband Sam Asghari wearing similar hats. She also reposted will.i.am’s postings to her own Instagram stories, but posted almost no promotion for her latest track. It’s not the first time the pop star has deactivated her Instagram account. She has deleted it multiple times over the past year.
Has Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account before?
Britney previously shut her Instagram account on June 8 just moments after sharing a picture of Brad Pitt. She stated in the caption that she has an uncle that looks identical to Pitt. She received backlash from netizens who commented that the post was extremely weird, strange, and out of place.
“When I was 2, the one that is identical to this picture helped potty train me… my miniature baby toilet was bright yellow but one day when I sat down, there was a crack in the seat and it cut my little booty !!! All I remember was he picked me up, we looked in the mirror together and he said ‘don’t cry’ !!!“, she captioned it. (h/t via Pink Villa)
Additionally, Britney Spears previously disabled her Instagram profile two days before she and Sam Asghari were to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. That was the ninth time in a year that the pop singer had deactivated her account. Asghari, in contrast, took to social media to express his admiration for Britney, referring to her as his “better half”. He also posted a video of their wedding, saying she was the woman of his dreams.
Britney Spears also took off her Instagram account abruptly in December 2022, confusing her admirers. She had posted several heartfelt words about her family members before deactivating her account. She did, however, clarify in January that she had made the choice because of the criticism she had received for her dance footage. After the incident, she decided that she needed to take some time away from the platform.
