Concerts tend to become the grounds for chaotic events. This is evidenced by disasters like Travis Scott‘s ASTROWORLD concert, or The Who’s Concert of old. Although these are one in a million, what has increased in frequency is performers having projectiles thrown at them while on stage.
The latest victim of fan throwing is lead female rapper Cardi B. Born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, Cardi was seen performing at a concert in Las Vegas yesterday.

While performing her late 2018 hit single Bodak Yellow, she raised the mic to her lips to sing the next verse. Suddenly a splash of liquid (assumed to be a drink) is seen hitting her in the face, originating from a drink cup.
The assailant was found to be from the audience and Cardi without a second thought, flung her metal microphone in the fan’s direction. It is unclear whether her hit connected, but the message was crystal clear.
Shaquille O’Neal reposted a reel of Cardi B on his story
Shaquille O’Neal or DJ Diesel is no stranger to concerts or public events. He may have experienced his fair share of fan assaults, however, it seems that any normal person would think twice or even thrice before messing with ‘The Diesel’.

Regardless, Shaq seems to approve of Cardi B’s eye for an eye attitude. Many artists and singers have been talking about increased security in the case of crowd assaults but Cardi took into her own hands to discourage any further incidents during her concerts.
This isn’t the first time she weaponized her microphone either. The night prior she was seen barefoot on stage while performing her smash hit ‘I Like It.’ At the end of the set, amidst a confetti celebration, Cardi was seen throwing her microphone in the direction of the event DJ and storming off.
After the fact, fans were let privy to the fact that she was upset that the DJ was cutting many of her songs short. Regarding it as a personal attack, she let him know of her feelings by launching the mic in his general direction.
Despite all the media fanfare and videos circulating on viral media, Cardi has yet to acknowledge either incident directly and it seems she is sending a veiled but clear message. Who knows, maybe Shaq will make a surprise appearance at her next concert to further discourage misconduct from the fans.
