When news about Bronny James suffering from a cardiac arrest surfaced, it left the entire world in chaos. Luckily, he was able to recover from it quickly leaving fans at ease. However, the only question in mind was what caused the health scare. We witnessed several news hubs report LeBron James‘ visit to Mayo Clinic, in Minnesota. Turns out they were made for Bronny as he was also present there.
After he was released from the hospital, his consulting cardiologist revealed that tests were still being run to determine the root cause. A recent update from cardiologist Merije Chukumerije and the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center team, as well as other leading heart specialists, are all positive.
A James family representative issued a statement that said, “After a comprehensive initial evaluation… the probable cause of Mr. James’ sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) has been identified. It is an anatomically and functionally significant Congenital Heart Defect which can and will be treated.”
Congenital heart defect was the cause of Bronny James’ cardiac arrest on July 24 and there is confidence he will make a full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future, per statement from James family spokesperson. pic.twitter.com/LLv4S9ro0x

“We are very confident in Bronny’s full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future. We will continue to provide updates to media and respectfully reiterate the family’s request for privacy,” it concluded. Dr. Michael J. Ackerman of Mayo Clinic and Dr. Matthew W. Martinez of Atlantic Health/Morristown Medical Center were the other experts involved in Bronny James’ case.
Fans react to the latest update on Bronny James’ health
Earlier, a few medical experts revealed that Bronny James may never return to the court if doctors don’t find the exact cause. Mainly due to the possibility of a recurring episode. Over the last couple of months, several athletes have been facing the same issue. This only shows how much more cautious athletes are required to be about their health. A budding athlete by the name of Caleb White lost his life after he collapsed at Pinson Valley, Alabama. His mother claimed he suffered from a cardiac arrest.
While the probable issue is stated to be a Congenital Heart Defect, it means that it is most likely the cause. This defect alters the way blood flows through the heart and is something people carry from birth. But regardless, fans are delighted over the fact that Bronny James will probably make a full-fledged return.
One fan said, “Hope he can return soon, kids got a bright a future glad it wasn’t worse than it could’ve been.” Another fan said, “I speak for everyone when I say we’re happy Bronny is gonna have a long career.”
