Anthony Edwards continues “The Summer of Ant” by introducing his own logo and sneaker in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, following an incredible FIBA World Cup campaign. The Adidas AE 1 officially debuted during Edward’s homecoming celebration at the Tracy Watt Recreation Center in Atlanta, following first looks at a prototype version of the style in early May.

Like his game in transition, Edward’s initial trademark evokes a blurred cohesiveness of speed and fluidity. The signature shoe of Edwards promotes speed and agility. It has a flexible knit upper and a distinct split tongue design, as well as an innovative TPU overlay that is precisely contoured to provide support during Edward’s quick, multi-directional motions while allowing for enough breathability.
The footwear also features BOOST cushioning technology for maximum comfort and directional herringbone blades for superior court traction. The triangle-shaped logo by Edwards meets all the requirements. At first sight, his initials “A” and “E” are obvious. His moniker “Ant” also inspired the Ant Hill design.

NBA fans can always depend on Adidas to go big at a time when so many companies across every industry (particularly footwear and sports) are opting for a minimalist approach. Edwards’ new logo sparked heated controversy among fans. Whereas the majority of supporters were critical of the new emblem, there were relatively few who expressed praise or respect for it.
Anthony Edward’s Adidas AE 1 is expected to release in December 2023
“Believe That” is the tagline for Adidas’ marketing for Edwards. If Anthony has taught us anything, it is to believe in everything he is a part of. Mark your calendars for the Adidas AE 1’s possible debut in December 2023. It’s available through select Adidas Basketball stores, both in-store and online, including adidas.com.
At around $120, this high-performance shoe provides outstanding value for basketball enthusiasts and fashion-conscious buyers. Athletes and fans will have to wait a little longer until they learn more about the Adidas AE1, as there currently needs to be an official release date, photos, or pricing. However, with the new splash announcement, Adidas is off to a great start.
