SUMMARY
- The Los Angeles Lakers are reconsidering the possibility of acquiring Dennis Schroder from the Toronto Raptors as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
- The Raptors' recent trades, acquiring RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley from the New York Knicks, have made Schroder potentially expendable.
As the NBA trade deadline approaches, the Los Angeles Lakers are considering the possibility of acquiring Dennis Schroder from the Toronto Raptors. Schroder, former backup point guard for the Lakers moved to Toronto for a larger role. However, things in Toronto have changed, especially after they acquired Immanuel Quickley which has affected Schroder’s position in the team.
The Lakers initially hoped to retain Schroder during the offseason, but Schroder went to Toronto, where he was promised the starting point guard position. Then the Lakers switched to Gabe Vincent of the Miami Heat. Unfortunately, the experiment with Vincent did not meet the expectations. He played only five games this season because of a knee injury and his return to the court is uncertain.
