JR is a good basketball player however he’s most known for his off-court activities and being a constant subject of memes. He was trolled for his blunder in the NBA finals against the Golden State Warriors. He is a decent shooter from the perimeter. JR has multiple games with 10 3pointers. he is one of the few players in history with this feat. JR has yet again caught media attention after he enrolled in North Carolina A&T.

The Los Angeles Lakers signed JR as a ‘Backcourt Insurance Policy’ in the 2020 season. He played in the spot of Avery Bradley, due to Bradley’s absence from the Lakers roster for the playoffs. This earned him another ring. He p[performed decently for the Lakers and dropped as a free agent the last season.

What happened to JR Smith?

This is a question valid for many NBA players. Players like Isaiah Thomas and JR smith had great seasons in the NBA, yet they are not on any NBA roster. In the case of JR, he was dropped by the Cavs in July 2019.  He didn’t play that season until the Lakers signed him for the remainder of their season. After the Los Angeles Lakers won the championship, they didn’t re-sign JR for the next season. JR had problems with his work ethic and few other problems off the court.

Smith was a highlight reel in his time with the Knicks. He threw down monster jams and posterized defenders. He was spot on from 3 point range. He4 got caught up in controversies with a brawl with some fans and that hurt his career. He performed well in the latest Pro-Am he played. Now with his immense interest in golf, he’s looking to pursue that interest in a new college career.
