Last year, the Hawkeyes point guard led the team to the NCAA Tournament Finals. However, they weren’t successful in getting past LSU. On the other hand, Clark has been making waves as possibly the greatest player out of the Hawkeyes program. This season, she averages 32.1 points, 7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists on 47.3% shooting from the field. Clark isn’t too far off from dethroning some of the legends of the women’s division.

The WNBA’s Kelsey Plum has been in a league of her own. She has been making waves in the WNBA. She currently stands as a 2x WNBA Champion, 2x WNBA All-Star, 2021 Sixth Player of the Year, 2022 WNBA All-Star Game MVP, Commissioner’s Cup Champion, and a lot more. What’s impressive is that she managed to achieve these accolades within the last seven years. Plum came into the league in 2017 as the first overall pick in the draft.
Her college days at the University of Washington were much like Caitlin Clark’s journey to stardom. Through four seasons, she averaged 25.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He best season was during her senior year when she averaged 31.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. Plum recorded 3,527 points which was the most in NCAA Women’s Basketball history. Clark happens to be only eight points away from breaking her record.

Besides closing in on Kelsey Plum’s scoring record, Caitlin Clark has already achieved much as a Hawkeyes player. By her 103rd appearance on the floor, she became the all-time scoring leader in Iowa. She’s the only Division-I player with 3,300+ points, 1,000+ assists, and 850+ rebounds. Clark recorded the most 30+ point games in men’s and women’s college basketball history. She’s the only player with four 40-point performances in college basketball as well.
She stands alongside Sabrina Ionescu as the only player in college women’s basketball history to record triple-doubles in four seasons. Additionally, she’s the all-time leader in points, three-pointers, assists, and field goals at Iowa. Clark has been nothing short of amazing and her future seems extremely bright. She’s got multiple accolades for her outstanding performances over the years.
