We are all aware of her exceptional jump shot. Her shooting abilities have drawn comparison to some of the greatest basketball players of all time, such as Stephen Curry. The 4x NBA Champion himself believes that she’s possibly the closest someone has ever been to replicating his shot. Clark could potentially overtake Curry’s reputation as the greatest shooter of all time. But only time will tell how far she will be able to close out the distance.
Caitlin Clark has averaged 85 percent from the free throw line in college
The Iowa Hawkeyes point guard has left everybody on edge ever since he commenced her senior year. Clark has asserted her dominance well averaging an impeccable 32.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game. In all honestly, this is as versatile as one can get, but only Clark shows the potential to exceed her limits. While we know of her incredible three-point shooting stride, Clark is also a great free-throw shooter.
During her first season, the 22-year-old averaged 85.8% from the line on 5.9 attempts per game. These numbers increased during her sophomore season as she averaged 88.1% from the foul line on 7.1 attempts per game. As a junior, she put up 83.9% from the line which isn’t her best. But she also experience an increase of 0.4 attempts per game. And during the 2023-24 campaign, she managed to shoot 85.1% from the line. Overall, Clark has never shot any less than 85.6% from the foul line.
Caitlin Clark beat Pete Maravich’s NCAA scoring record while shooting free throws
February 2024 was possibly the best month in Caitlin Clark’s collegiate career. Several experts of the game have started to call her the greatest college basketball player ever. She managed to surpass Kelsey Plum as the all-time leading scorer in Division I Women’s Basketball. She also passed Lynette Woodard for the major college scoring record, and Antoine Davis as the second-highest scorer in NCAA history.

During her first matchup in March, Clark stood 18 points shy of Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points. Maravich set the record in 1970, which is 54 years ago. During a game between Iowa and Ohio State, it was during the end of the second quarter when Clark was rewarded three free throw attempts on a technical foul given to Ohio State. She sank all three attempts to surpass Maravich as the all-time NCAA scoring leader.
