The NBA world has witnessed plenty of trends that have eventually calmed down as time passed. But that was not the case with the frenzy that stand-up comedian Brittany Schmit sent the globe into. For those who don’t know, Brittany is an American comedian who conducts shows in the country. This was when she made a joke about former NBA players who eventually became Jehovah’s witnesses.
During one of her shows, Brittany said, “I got a call from one of the guys I used to hook up with in the NBA. I thought he was calling to talk about the glory days. He called to tell me that he’s now a Jehovah’s witness, and I should repent. And I started laughing.” Although she didn’t reveal the name of the player, she mentioned that it was the “Light-skinned one.”
This led the NBA world to look for all the NBA players who are Jehovah’s witnesses. There weren’t many, but three players that the fans pointed the finger at. But they arrived at the conclusion that it could have been Danny Granger, mainly because of his skin color.
Did Brittany Schmitt lie about dating an ex-NBA player who was a Jehovah’s witness?
Brittany caused quite the mayhem, as many tried to figure out if she really dated Danny Granger. This led fans to question if she lied about the incident and their relationship. Make no mistake, Schmitt never disclosed the player’s name, but fans assumed it was the former Indiana Pacers star. The comedian also claimed that she had a threesome with the player and his “Cousin Keith.”
This attracted plenty of wild reactions from fans as one even labeled Granger as “Gross as f*ck,” although it was confirmed that it was Granger himself. However, until today, Brittany has not disclosed the identity of the player. It remains as one of the biggest mysteries that the NBA community has not been able to solve.

Brittany is now single, after getting a divorce from her husband, Chris Rutkowski. Her ex-husband is also a comedian, and was interestingly one of the reasons why Brittany’s joke gained huge popularity among fans. The former couple did not disclose the reason for their divorce, but Brittany sent an emotional note on Instagram recently.
Schmitt will remain a familiar figure to NBA fans, mainly because of her joke about ex-NBA players who are Jehovah’s witnesses.
