The Undertaker, or The Deadman, the WWE legend, can be referred to by any of his names, but the one thing that remains intact with each of them is the greatness of his career. Taker dedicated his entire life to the industry, and that’s the reason he is one of the most respected names in the world of professional wrestling.
Throughout his in-ring career, The Phenom has been part of memorable feuds and storylines against some of the biggest superstars in the promotion. From Triple H to Shawn Michaels or Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker has a lot of history with such big names from pro wrestling, but none of them seems like his toughest opponent to the legendary in-ring worker.
It was revealed by Taker himself, as he shared who his toughest opponent is during his recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s YouTube podcast. During his conversation with Chris, the host asked him, “Was your scariest opponent the jacket that didn’t come off?,” and The Deadman responded pretty interestingly.
Sharing his answer to the Youtuber’s question, The Undertaker said, “Oh man, You’ve done your homework. Oh my lord, that might have been my toughest opponent for sure, man.” Even though the veteran said it in a sarcastic way, this comment from someone like Taker shows how frustrating that thing was not just for fans but also for The Phenom.
The Undertaker shares his thoughts about his infamous wardrobe malfunction
While talking about the issues he had with the coat, The Undertaker also shared his thoughts about his infamous wardrobe malfunction. The incident took place on a weekly episode of RAW, when Taker and Kane were supposed to team up against 3MB, as The Phenom’s issues with his outfit resulted in a lot of delay.
Talking about the same, The Deadman said, “I make my entrance. I go to drop the coat off my shoulders. Well, instead of falling like it did at Mania, it folded. And, the more I’m messing with it, the tighter it’s getting. So, now they’ve realized that I’m having a wardrobe malfunction. So now they’re shooting, this is live RAW. Kane’s in the front right corner, and I’m looking at him like, with panic in my eyes.”
In addition to this, The Undertaker shared how one guy from the ring crew came towards the rope and got successful in removing the coat after a lot of effort. These comments from the veteran show the kind of incident that was and how it ended up turning the iconic coat into Taker’s scariest opponent.
The Undertaker’s recent appearances have been without his special gear
The Phenom struggled with the coat on several occasions, and that’s probably why his recent appearances have been without that special gear. Everyone knows that The Deadman is officially retired from in-ring competition, but the special appearances he has made in recent years have also been without the gear that made his character truly iconic.
From the day he had an iconic interaction with Bray Wyatt to the latest appearance at WrestleMania 40 to take out The Rock, Taker has been without his coat and hat, and it’s probably a hint that he is not going to continue that character. With the respect the WWE Universe carries for that side of Taker’s gimmick, it’ll be interesting to see if he ever appears in that gear for his fans or not.
