Dillon Danis is an American MMA fighter who is set to face YouTuber-turned-fighter Logan Paul in a boxing bout in October. Danis was reportedly raised by his mother alone. However, he is believed to have a good relationship with his father.
According to his post on X (formerly known as Twitter), his father died in October 2022. He posted an image of himself with his father from his childhood and wrote, “rest easy dad love you”

Danis, however, was not raised by his father as reports suggest that the Parsippany–Troy Hills-born fighter was raised by his mother, Nikki Danis. She helped Danis create a career in MMA. Nikki used to keep in touch with Danis’ school because he regularly missed classes as he was simultaneously pursuing his dream.
It was unclear if Danis had a relationship with his father until he posted the aforementioned picture on X. Details about his father are unknown. How his father died has not been revealed.
Dillon Danis reveals that his father’s death was too close to the KSI fight
Danis is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and also has a fairly decent career in MMA. He was the training partner for Conor McGregor before his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. However, he had no experience of boxing before he finalized a fight with KSI last year. The boxing bout was set to take place in January 2023.
Danis and KSI confirmed the fight in November 2022. However, Danis was going through a rough period at that point. His close friend and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Leandro Lo was shot dead by a cop in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on August 7, 2022. Along with that, Danis had to face the death of his father in October just months later.
In the Johnny Drinks podcast, Danis revealed, “It was hard to deal with it. Then my dad passed, and it was all at the same time, so it was pretty tough, you know.”
Danis pulled out of the KSI fight just 10 days before it was scheduled to take place. He cited the reason that he was underprepared for the fight.
In the same podcast, Danis opened up about how his father’s death, so close to the KSI fight, did not help his case. “That’s why a lot of people don’t know, but before the KSI fight and all this sh*t I was going through,” said Danis.
During the podcast, fans got to see an unusually soft side of Danis. He is usually brutal in his trash-talking and knows no boundaries. However, he further explained that he does not like to complain about his issues.
