It appears as if the majority opinion surrounding the GOAT conversation has finally shifted from Michael Jordan to LeBron James. As almost every single fan will know, LeBron and Jordan and widely recognized as two of the best players in the history of the NBA and are often compared by fans and experts in order to find out who was truly better.
Given that the two of their careers never overlapped, many were left wondering what could have happened if the two of them faced off in their prime. Since LeBron dealt with a lot of challenges and failures throughout his career, the majority of older fans still believe that Michael Jordan is the undisputed GOAT. However, a recent post on social media seems to suggest that things have changed.
LeBron James is being credited increasingly by fans as the GOAT
It has been several decades since Michael Jordan stepped on an NBA court. Therefore, most fans may not have seen him in action or be able to remember what the 6x NBA champion was capable of doing. On the other hand, LeBron has been in the league for so long and continued to play at a high level. As a result, his fanbase has been growing quite steadily over the years.

A post of Michael Jordan celebrating with a caption indicating that he is the GOAT was flooded with comments. The majority of them pointed out that LeBron was not spotted and as a result, the true GOAT wasn’t present. Although this debate between LeBron James and Michael Jordan never truly seems to end, one must be wondering if there is any other former or current NBA star who deserves to be in the conversation.
Will any other star enter the GOAT debate with Michael Jordan and LeBron James?
When the NBA experts and members of the media engage in the GOAT discussion, LeBron and Jordan are usually the only players discussed. The third spot appears to be open. Some claim that Kobe Bryant or Magic Johnson should get it. Others state that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, or Larry Bird could also make a case.
As far as current players, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are the only ones with enough accolades to be considered top 10 players. However, they are not expected to move up the rankings unless they win more titles before their careers come to an end. It is also possible that Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown win multiple titles in the near future and find themselves in the conversation.
