Lies of P quickly captured the hearts of many fans of the Souls-like genre when it was released back in September 2023. Recently, the game director Ji Wo Choi did a live letter video wherein he thanked the fans of the game and also spilled some beans about the developer’s future plans.
Earlier, the developer, Neowiz Games had confirmed a DLC for the game. Ji Wo Choi further confirmed the DLC, along with also confirming a sequel of the game. Thus, players of Lies of P surely have a lot to look forward to.
In the Director’s Letter video, Ji Won Choi first thanked the community for supporting them to surpass one million units in sales. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude by saying, “This could not have been possible without the love and support from you. I wanted to show my greatest gratitude for playing and enjoying Lies of P.”
He then extended his gratitude towards the players by sharing the news about what the studio has been working on. According to Ji Won Choi, they are currently putting all their attention towards developing a DLC before getting on to create a sequel. The director also shared a sneak peek of the DLC, along with what players can possibly expect from it. During the video, he showed an image that had Pinocchio standing on a pirate ship. From its scene, it can be assumed that the setting is an abandoned ship on the Atlantic.
Lies of P is set in the steampunk period of civilization. Thus, there are chances that the DLC could include the Titanic. Similarly, given the story is based on fables, Treasure of the Ghost Pirate could also be a valid possibility. This is what could be assumed out of the concept art shown by the director in the video.
Lies of P plans a weapon balance update for November
Apart from the DLC and the sequel, Ji Won Choi further shared the possible release of the game’s next patch. The update is expected to launch later in November. Notably, the director shared that the next update will focus on weapon balancing since it is of great importance in the game.
Additionally, the players have voiced their concerns regarding daggers and a few blades underperforming in the game. The director addressed those, stating that the next update will be making them more usable for players who prefer these types of weapons.
Reports suggest Neowiz Games is also working on a crossover with Wo Long. Although the details of the crossover haven’t been revealed yet, the developments are expected to be shared in the future. Currently, Ji Won Choi asked the fanbase to stay patient while they work on it.
Lies of P received great reviews when it launched on September 19, 2023. The game was even compared to the PlayStation-exclusive title Bloodborne for being so true to the souls-like genre of games.
