WWE Superstar LA Knight’s return to WWE SmackDown’s July 14th Episode has taken fans by storm. This was Knight’s first TV appearance since his heartbreaking loss at the Money in the Bank PLE in London earlier this month.
The 40-year-old has recently been getting massive support from the WWE universe, and that’s why he was the favorite to win the Men’s MITB 2023, but it didn’t. In the final moments of the match, when LA was about to take down the briefcase, Damian Priest came over to take Knight down the ladder and eventually win the match.
Knight wasn’t able to win at MITB, but with Knight’s recent return, it seems that he will soon get his first championship reign on the main roster. LA has been a fan-favorite in recent months, but critics have been accusing him of copying legendary WWE superstars; The Rock and Stone Cold.
Recently, LA Knight opened up on these accusations during an interview with BT Sport before Money in the Bank 2023. In the interview, LA Knight hits back at the accusations of copying The Rock and Stone Cold and addresses the critics.
Talking about these accusations, Knight said, “People are always going to make comparisons; it’s the easiest thing for people to do. If you have something that’s familiar to you, here’s this new entity. What can I compare it to so that it feels familiar to me? That’s fine; whatever you need to do, go do it. I’m me; I’m the one; I’m the only; I am LA Knight.”
What is the reason behind the lack of push for LA Knight?
There was an era when the WWE was great at building stars and using wrestlers’ success outside the company to take them to the next level. However, the company has been really bad at building stars recently, and they’ve also not been able to give proper attention to superstars when they are the hottest among the fans.
One such recent case is the lack of push for WWE superstar LA Knight. Knight has been the hottest WWE superstar in recent months, but the company hasn’t been able to utilize him to his full potential. Before joining WWE in 2021, the 40-year-old had a successful career in Impact Wrestling and the Independent circuit, but he hasn’t been able to get such success in WWE.
Some people think the reason behind the lack of push for Knight has been his age factor. However, fans aren’t too concerned about his age, as Knight can perform brilliantly with young-generation WWE superstars even at this age. His mic skills are also tremendous, and it’s high time WWE realizes Knight’s worth and gives him the push he fully deserves.

LA Knight is set to participate in a fatal four-way match on Next Week’s SmackDown, and it can lead him to a United States Championship match. If Knight makes it to the match, he might be seen challenging Austin Theory at WWE SummerSlam. Do you think WWE will finally pull the trigger on LA Knight with a US title reign?
