- Kevin Durant was spotted practicing his jump shot at a night club.
- Former NBA stars Kenyon Martin and Gilbert Arenas had hilarious responses to the viral moment caught on camera.
Kevin Durant had quite a rough season with the Phoenix Suns. He was acquired by the ball club during the trade deadline in 2023 and the Suns only made it to the second round in last year’s postseason. However, the new ownership brought along a set of pivotal changes that were supposed to lead the team to a guaranteed title shot. Unfortunately, their 2023-24 season run didn’t turn out as expected.
The 2x NBA Champion averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game but he was the only main player to not get injured. Bradley Beal missed a good chunk of the regular season due to a back and hamstring ailment. He also experienced a nasal fracture at some point during the season. Devin Booker wasn’t fully healthy either and the Suns eventually experienced a first-round sweep.
Kenyon Martin and Gilbert Arenas try to decode Kevin Durant’s viral clip
Obviously, the off-season is when most NBA players take a break from the court to relax and recalibrate before heading into training camp and eventually starting a new season again. Kevin Durant was recently spotted at a nightclub enjoying himself and randomly practicing jab stops and his jump shot.
This caught the attention of the hosts of Gil’s Arena. Former NBA stars Kenyon Martin and Gilbert Arenas tried to decode the scenario. Martin asked, “Was he talking to somebody?” And Arenas chimed in by saying KD was probably telling someone, “This was how I was doing them earlier today.” But this also shows that basketball isn’t something that Durant does for a living, it’s his entire life. Durant has always expressed how he plays simply because he loves basketball and wants to win.
The Suns may have to give up Kevin Durant or another star this off-season
The Suns recently hired Mike Budenholzer as their new head coach, a replacement for Frank Vogel who spent only 11 months with the organization. But Phoenix is expected to make several other changes around the roster during the off-season. Considering that they’re expected to pay $150 million in salaries to their Big 3 next season, the Suns aren’t financially ready to sign another All-Star or All-Star caliber player.

Interestingly, the Suns don’t have power over their future picks either. Right now, the only viable option for the organization is to trade either one of its superstars. Booker claims that he wants to be a one-franchise player, similar to what Kobe Bryant was to the LA Lakers. KD is a great veteran star for the team especially since he’s putting up elite numbers. Perhaps letting go of Beal would help them open up their cap space a little more.
