Before breaking through in the WWE, Cena competed as a wrestler in Ohio Valley Wrestling, a developmental division of WWE. He competed as ‘The Prototype‘ in several independent wrestling promotions during this time. His personality was more robotic than human, giving the impression that he was a painting.
John Cena said in an interview that his character was awful and wouldn’t help him become a famous person. Even though his tenure as ‘The Prototype’ was unsuccessful, Cena made his WWE debut and won over everyone’s admiration. Dave Bautista debuted as ‘Deacon Batista’
Top WWE legend Batista, often known as The Animal, had enormous success in his professional wrestling career. As he rose through the ranks of OVW to become the centerpiece of the main event at WrestleMania, Batista undoubtedly solidified his place in history as one of the greatest talents of all time.
On May 9, 2002, D-Von Dudley, who was playing a reverend, pulled a burly man out of his disguise. This handsome guy was dubbed ‘Deacon Batista’ by Reverend D-Von after he was seen wearing the Building Fund donation box around his neck.
But the show didn’t work for the crowd, and Deacon Bautista quickly changed his name to Batista and joined Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton. Subsequently, The Animal emerged as a multiple champion and an inevitable future Hall of Famer. Despite having weird initial gimmicks, John Cena and Dave Batista have come a long way and are two of the top faces WWE has ever produced.
