It’s not been too long since Jey Uso walked out of the Triple-H-led promotion, and it was surely one of the most shocking things to happen on WWE television in recent years. This happened on SmackDown’s August 11 episode as he hit a superkick on his brother Jimmy.
Afterward, Jey turned his attention toward the camera and shouted “I’m out! I’m out of the Bloodline, I’m out of SmackDown. I’m out of WWE!” The fan-favorite Uso announcing his departure was a shock for fans, but many believe it’s part of the ongoing Bloodline story.
On the other hand, a certain part of the WWE universe believes that Jey quitting on live TV is not part of The Bloodline story, as something could have gone wrong between the two parties. So let’s take a look at four possible things that could have led to Main Event Jey’s exit from Triple H’s company.
Jimmy Uso not getting the same respect as Jey
Jey Uso has been considered to be the bigger star among The Usos, and due to the love he received recently, there’s no doubt about it. While fans may have chosen their favorite member from the iconic tag team, this could have made Jey feel bad for his twin brother.
Jimmy Uso not getting the same respect from the WWE universe may not have sat well with his twin brother. The lack of fan respect for his brother may have taken a toll on Jey’s long association with the Stamford-based promotion. In the end, this could have been the reason why he ended his stint with Triple H’s company.
To get out of Jimmy Uso’s shadows
Main Event Jey may have been more successful among the Uso brothers in terms of single-career success. But it’s probably true that he’s best known for his run as a tag team with his brother Jimmy. Whenever there’s talk about the fan favorite Uso, it will surely involve his journey as a member of The Usos, and this could have triggered him to leave.
Jey may have desired to excel as a singles competitor, and to do so, he obviously had to get out of the shadows of Jimmy Uso. The fan-favorite Uso’s wish to enjoy success in his pro wrestling career as a singles competitor could have been the reason why he said goodbye to the Stamford-based promotion.
Roman Reigns’ presence
Jey Uso may have become a main event star in the last few months, but there’s no denying that he’s still not on the same level as the Undisputed Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. The fan-favorite Uso challenged the Tribal Chief for his title at SummerSlam 2023, but not many believed that Jey could end his historic title reign.
Fans’ instincts about this match’s result eventually came true, as Main Event Jey lost the Tribal Combat to Reigns. He lost due to a surprise attack by his twin brother, Jimmy, but this loss may have made him realize that Roman’s presence wouldn’t let him reach the top. This could have led him to make the unexpected decision to leave WWE.
To become a top star in AEW
If Jey Uso has plans to make it big in his singles career, he may have considered that WWE is not really the ideal place for him to perform. Main Event Jey may have planned to make a shift to All Elite Wrestling to work on his desire to become a top singles competitor in his pro wrestling career.
Jey’s wish to become a top star in the Jacksonville-based promotion may have led him to make the tough decision to quit WWE. It may not have been the easiest decision for him to make, but as it’s said, growth comes only after some tough times, and it could have led Jey to depart the promotion he spent more than a decade at.
Even though the fan-favorite Uso announced his exit from the Triple-H-led promotion about a week ago, it’s still not known if he’ll join Tony Khan’s company. It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll soon make a shocking AEW debut or if all these speculations come to an end with the revelation that his WWE exit was just part of a storyline. We’ll get answers to all such questions in the next few weeks.
