SUMMARY
- Jaylen Brown recorded another incredible highlight against the Mavericks during Game 1.
- Brown made history by becoming the first player since 2012 to record 20 points, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in a playoff game.
After being snubbed from All-NBA selections and being undermined by several peers, Jaylen Brown has become the strongest piece of the Boston Celtics’ roster. It’s been a rough road for the 27-year-old who has been with the organization for the last eight seasons. Brown had set himself up for a lot of success but he’s only been able to achieve half of what was expected out of him and the Celtics. But this just doesn’t take him away from how great he is.

During Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Celtics guard proved exactly why he’s worthy of all praise. He finished with a team-high 22 points while being backed up by Kristaps Porzingis who recently returned from a 38-day layoff due to a calf strain. Not only did Brown lead the team, but he also had another highlight against Luka Doncic as you can see in the video above.
Fans react to Jaylen Brown’s best highlight of the playoffs
Throughout the 2023-24 season, Jaylen Brown pulled off a couple of incredible highlights against this year’s MVP candidate, Doncic. Earlier, he maneuvered an insane ankle breaker including a couple of great dribble moves and blocks. Fans have been raving about Brown’s performance against Doncic since their finals matchup was confirmed with a Dallas Mavericks Western Conference victory.

After he had a crossover poster highlight against the Mavericks guard, fans went absolutely nuts on social media. One fan said, “He’s been on a different type of time ever since the world said he couldn’t go left.” Another fan added, “Dude owns Luka.” The Eastern Conference Finals MVP has been exceptional in the playoffs averaging 25 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
The Celtics cannot celebrate just yet with Game 1 in the bag
After an exceptional Game 1 victory, the Celtics group celebrated in the locker room but Jaylen Brown was about business and no fun. While dapping up his teammates, he said, “Don’t get cute fellas, come on. It’s just one game.” Brown is slowly emerging as the main leader of the group despite Jayson Tatum having consistent MVP runs every year.

And for the first time in 12 years, Brown became the only other player to record 20 points, 3 blocks, and 3 steals since Kevin Garnett. Jaylen has been trying his best to establish himself as a top gun of the Celtics franchise over the years. And if the Celtics win the title this year, Brown will inevitably become the biggest reason for their postseason success.
