A lot of us a probably familiar with who Brittany Schmitt is and why she’s as popular as she is. The 33-year-old is a well-known stand-up comedian who has worked with multiple television networks in the past. She is mostly known for her straightforward and no-filter personality. Schmitt has earned her place amongst the elite by living a carefree life when she’s on stage.
Schmitt was previously rumored to have had an affair with former NBA player Danny Granger. An injury-plagued career forced him to retire after playing 10 seasons in the league. It was shortly after retirement that Granger was linked to Schmitt. In 2021, Schmitt ended up revealing that an ex-partner who was an NBA player called her and revealed that he was a Jehovah’s Witness.
In addition to that, she claimed he asked her to repent for the scandalous relationship they had. A week after the comment was made, she appeared on the No Pill Friday Podcast and admitted that the bit was based on a true incident. “Nothing that I say is a bit. Turns out that I ruined someone’s life with one of my bits this past week… One of the bits about the NBA player who turned into a Jehovah’s Witness… he went viral. Oh yeah, it’s a real person,” she said.
Even though she never revealed the name of the ex-NBA player who called her, she claimed that he was light-skinned. Fans immediately linked the brief detailing to Granger as he almost perfectly fit the description. Granger was a light-skinned male who also was a Jehovah’s Witness follower. Additionally, he was the only NBA star linked to Schmitt. However, Darren Collison and Dewayne Dedmon were the other players who were rumored to be the man the joke was centered around.
Where is Brittany Schmitt now?
While the joke continues to linger around the internet, Brittany Schmitt is still making money by being a standout comedian. She has performed in various parts of the country and the world. Schmitt briefly worked along with Comedy Central as well, one of America’s biggest comedy-based television networks. Schmitt eventually married a man named Chris Rutkowski. They tied the knot back in 2017, a few years following the rumored romance between her and Granger. However, in 2023, Schmitt claimed that their marriage hit rock bottom and that they were getting a divorce. But the post that announced their split has been removed. The status of their marriage is unclear as both of them are private about their relationship.
