Israel Adesanya is a major fan of auto-mobile and has a good collection of cars. Ahead of his much-hyped bout against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276, Stylebender spoke on his choice of cars and why he likes to change up the vehicles for different events.
The UFC Middleweight Champion has a McLaren 720s supercar. The orange card has a very distinct look which catches the eye. When asked about the reason for buying the car, Izzy shared an interesting story. While the McLaren was certainly an excellent addition to his collection, Adesanya wanted to buy a Lamborghini originally. Then why did he decide against it? Izzy answered,
“You always just have this ideas of like, ‘I wanna get a cool sports car. So I wanted a Lamborghini Aventador matte black. That looked like the Bat-Mobile. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sit up straight in it.”
Ultimately that is what pushed him towards the McLaren. The car had a resemblance to a fictional character from the anime series ‘NARUTO’ called ‘Kurama.’

The 32-year-old also found a coincidence with the car having the serial number of 720s and NARUTO having 720 episodes. Hence, buying the car became a no-brainer for Israel Adesanya who is a big fan of the anime series.
Why did Israel Adesanya choose a Rolls-Royce for his UFC 271 fight week?
Despite having a McLaren at his disposal, Israel Adesanya took his car game up a level for his rematch against Robert Whittaker at UFC 271. During that fight week, he roamed around in a Rolls-Royce. The Kiwi even had the card parked behind him for an interview with ESPN journalist Brett Okamoto. During his conversation with BT SPORT, Izzy commented on that as well.
He was advised to hire a driver for the luxury car instead of driving the car by himself. However, he refused to do so as he labelled himself as a ‘self-driven’ person. Talking about picking the Rolls-Royce car, Adesanya explained,

“I like to conceptualize things. This time (UFC 271) I had, this fight I had a colour nine Rolls-Royce. I just wanted to see how that felt like… It’s just me expression. It’s all expression, this is art. The way you live is art. So for me, it was all about expression.”
This time around, Israel Adesanya has kept things relatively simple. At UFC 276, Adesanya will look to complete his 5th consecutive 185lbs title defence. If he is successful in that quest in the main event, then he will know who his opponent is even before he enters the Octagon. The card will also feature Sean Strickland vs Alex Pereira which is the reported no. 1 title contender fight.
Who do you think Israel Adesanya face after UFC 276? Will Alex Pereira be able to earn the chance to fight the man who he has already beaten twice in Kickboxing? Or will Sean Strickland rise to the occasion and get the maiden title shot of his career? Let us know in the comments below.
