Stephen Curry has had quite a rough start to the 2023-24 season with the Golden State Warriors. After a fiery opening run, the Warriors have now lost four out of their last five games. There are several issues that Dub Nation will have to deal with throughout this season. But for now, they rank seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 6-5. Tonight, they are headed into their second In-Season Tournament game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be facing Warriors once again after winning against them on November 12. They have been playing considerably better with Anthony Edwards leading them on offense. Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert have been exceptional backups. Their perfectly balanced scheme managed to knock off the Warriors to secure the third spot in the West. Both teams will meet at the Chase Center.
Stephen Curry will not be available for the Warriors vs. Timberwolves game
Stephen Curry has been carrying the Warriors through 11 games so far averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. In his last game, he scored 38 points against the Wolves but barely got any help from his teammates. Unfortunately, Curry is dealing with right knee soreness after an awkward landing on a drive to the basket. He will miss the Wolves game tonight.

Minnesota has its entire starting lineup intact and battle-ready. The only major injury on the roster is Jordan McLaughlin’s right knee MCL sprain. Sources have revealed that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks. Jaylen Clark, who succumbed to an Achilles injury in July will keep him sidelined until the second half of the season. The Wolves will feature their Big 3 on the court against the Warriors.

Will the Warriors defeat the Timberwolves without Stephen Curry?
Unfortunately, Stephen Curry is the only player on the Warriors roster to have recorded more than 20 points per game. Besides him, no other player has had a 20-point game this season. Curry’s lowest-scoring night was against the Sacramento Kings when he recorded 21 points. In his absence, either Klay Thompson or Andrew Wiggins needs to step up to fill up his shoes.
In their last game, the T-Wolves managed to dominate the Warriors on defense as well. This is very concerning for GSW moving into their second In-Tournament Game which will determine which is the best team in West Group C. Right now, the Warriors, Wolves, and Kings all have one win each. Unfortunately, the Wolves are the better team on paper in Curry’s absence.
