In the realm of WWE, fans are huge followers of The Wyatt Brothers. With cunning strategies, the 2013 tag team champions have given their fans years of control over their rivals in a shorter amount of time. When one of the Wyatt Brothers unexpectedly died without a protracted illness, they decided to take a break for a few years. The world was rocked by grief when Brodie Lee passed away in 2020.
2019 saw Brodie announce his retirement from the sport. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis was the cause of death given to Brodie Lee, aka Jonathan Huber. The body cannot get much oxygen from the lungs in such circumstances. Since his unfortunate demise, fans and superstars have shared their experiences working with the Exalted One during his time in the ring.
Honoring his commendable career, AEW has partnered with Reebok to launch a special edition of Reebok Classic Sneakers. The group collaborated with Lee’s spouse and 12-year-old son, who also aspired to be a professional AEW wrestler, to create a Reebok Classic Leather sneaker in the ‘Brodie’ colorway, which will only be available at Champs Sports starting on July 1.
Promoting the newest collection, AEW’s MJF talked about the experience and feelings he had for the late wrestler. Talking about the veteran, MJF stated how Brodie was a massive human being in terms of heart and soul. “He was just a genuinely down-to-earth, dare I say salty earth person.”, said the AEW Superstar.
MJF has been one of the most influential stars in the company since its arrival on the scene. He has been one of the front pillars of the company and has worked with several veterans. Brodie’s involvement has certainly boosted a lot of young superstar’s performances over the years.
MJF shared Brodie Lee’s last message to his wife Amanda
Sharing one of his memories involving Brodie, MJF revealed how he worked as a catalyst between Brodie and his wife. He stated how he talked to a medium after Lee’s passing which gave him a message for Brodie’s wife Amanda. “The medium looks at me and goes, “he says his wife’s name is Amanda”…..The medium starts talking to me and I can tell she’s speaking the way that Brodie used to speak with me.”, said MJF.
He continued by stating that the medium further requested to convey the message to his wife. “I walk up to Amanda on TV the next week and I tell her this insane story and her eyes start welling up because she was searching for this and she had got her answer that day.”, said the former AEW Champion.
He further stated how much Brodie loved his family and was indeed a special kind of person. Fans have loved the initiative taken by AEW to launch a special edition of Sneakers in the loving memory of Brodie Lee and are looking forward to buying them.
Several superstars have taken inspiration from the late Brodie Lee
People were captivated by Jon Huber. He achieved the hardest thing in wrestling, whether he was competing as Luke Harper or Brodie Lee. Huber dedicated his entire life to mastering his art and relentlessly pursuing the ideal appearance, demeanor, and persona. The result was creating a classic in the professional wrestling industry, but sadly, there won’t be a sequel.
WWE Superstar Xavier Woods had a heartfelt choice of words for the former Wyatt Family member. Woods stated in an edition of RAW Talk in 2021, “He is someone who isn’t just extremely important to me, but extremely important to everyone in this company, and we just really are gonna miss him..”.
The Visionary Seth Rollins also wrote a heartfelt note on Brodie’s passing. He stated “I looked up to Brodie. Not just because he was a physical mountain of a man, but because of how he was as a father and husband. And as I venture into those realms myself now, I hope I can carry a bit of him with me. I hope I can be to my family even a little of what he was to his.”
Several WWE and AEW wrestlers were shocked after the unfortunate news broke out and stated how difficult it was to process the loss. Amidst the grief, many also thought about the fortitude and tenacity that characterized Huber’s career in professional wrestling, a business that is paradoxically both noble and ruthless.
