SUMMARY
- WWE Universe has been getting some of the best product in recent history understand CCO Triple H.
- But veteran pro wrestler Bret Hart believed that Triple H isn't capable of running the Stamford-based promotion.
Triple H has kind of taken over the leadership role after Vince McMahon’s exit from the company, and it’s safe to say that Hunter has been doing a spectacular job. From creating a great atmosphere for the performers in the organization to giving the audience some of the finest storylines in history, The Game has been exceptional.
Moreover, the success of WrestleMania 40, and the recently held Backlash PLE in France showcase how the business is growing at an all-time high rate. Amid all these aspects of the veteran’s stint, the entire industry is hailing Paul Levesque, but a legendary pro wrestler’s vintage predicted the complete opposite of this.
An interview by former WWE star Bret Hart has recently started resurfacing on the internet, and it’s evident that he couldn’t have been more wrong about Triple H leading the Stamford-based promotion. In the conversation with Inside The Ropes back in 2019, Bret talked about how Hunter isn’t the best guy to take over.
The veteran said, “I don’t know that In all my years being around Triple H, I never saw him come up with one idea for anything in a match ever. So, I mean, I don’t. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe he’s actually a genius, and can figure out all kinds of things. I don’t think Triple H has any idea about anything.”
Looking at the things The Game has already achieved as the WWE CCO, it’s safe to say that Bret’s comments have aged well. Also, it remains to be seen if he ever comes forward to take his words back and hail Paul for all the changes he has implemented in the promotion.
Bret Hart believes Triple H is overrated by the WWE Universe
The comments about Hunter’s incapability of making creative decisions aren’t the only thing Bret Hart has targeted, as he has also taken a dig at his career in the past. It happened more than a decade ago, back in 2013, as Bret shared that he believes Triple H is overrated by the WWE Universe.
The legendary in-ring star said, “I don’t know how great he really is. I think he’s overrated. He’s overrated for being great. I can’t sit here and name one match that he’s had with anybody that I thought was great. You think he would have had it by now, but I don’t think he’s a great wrestler. (Via: GiveMeSport)
In addition to this, Hart also added that The Game’s in-ring work was predictable, and he never did anything innovative. All these comments clearly show that things weren’t that great between them, and it’s probably why Bret Hart decided to take so many shots at Triple H and his career.
WWE has thrived exceptionally under the Triple H era
Despite everything Bret Hart has said about Hunter’s capabilities inside the ring or his ability as the creative head, it’s evident that The Game has been exceptional in both roles. In fact, the recent success of the Stamford-based promotion showcases how WWE has thrived exceptionally under Triple H’s era.
Paul Levesque has given the performers some much-needed balance between their personal lives and work, and it has led to improvements in backstage environments. Additionally, the legendary pro wrestling figure has also made sure that fans get what they want, and CM Punk returning to the company was the biggest proof of that.
Moreover, the changes in WWE’s production and in-ring product are also visible, and it has helped the audience get more attracted to the product. Last but not least, Hunter’s decision-making has also played a major role in the success, as he has focused on taking the company onto a global level, and to do so, they even signed a historic partnership with Netflix.

The promotion’s decision to organize PLE’s on the international stage has also given position results that were clearly visible at WWE Backlash. All in all, it’s safe to say that the company is doing really well under the leadership of Hunter, and he’ll try to take the Stamford-based promotion to new heights in the future.
