SUMMARY
- Genshin Impact 4.5 livestream showcased new character, weapon and brand new events coming to the game.
- There is a new 5-star character and weapon but no new 4-stars.
Genshin Impact 4.5 livestream has concluded and it gave us a look at the upcoming 4.5 update. The new update will feature a new character named ‘Chiori’ and comes with a new weapon named ‘Uraku Misuguri’ which looks similar to the ‘Mistsplitted Reforged’.
Chiori and ‘Uraku Misuguri’ are both Inazuma elements, with Chiori wearing a traditional Japanese dress similar to Yoimiya. The update is also bringing some beloved characters on a rerun. It also introduces a new kind of banner called the Chronicled Wish Banner.
Genshin Impact 4.5 will also feature a new event called the Potionomics Event. The update also comes with one collaboration with Discovery, which features Kaveh in Wildlife Explorer clothes.
Genshin Impact 4.5 character and weapon banners
The 4.5 update is divided into phases, with each phase featuring a single banner. However, unlike most updates, 4.5 will only feature one new character. There are no new 4-star characters.
We have Chiori, the new character, in the first phase itself, along with a rerun of Arataki Itto. The 4-stars on the banner are not known yet. The second phase has reruns of two very meta-friendly characters: Neuvilette and Kaedehara Kazuha.
Chiori is a Master Tailor in Fontaine but originally belongs to Inazuma. She is a short sword-wielding character and possesses a Geo Vision. She is supposedly a backline support with a linear playstyle but is mostly an onfield DPS, similar to Fischl, although knowing the Genshin community, it won’t be long before she might out-DPS the actual DPS characters.
Chiori is also a dual-scaling character and her damage scales with both ATK and DEF stats. However, the DEF multipliers are higher than the ATK ones. ER is not necessary for her since her burst does not contribute that much to her overall damage. Urake Misuguri is her best-in-slot weapon, with Jade Cutter also seemingly able to do the job just as well.
Genshin Impact 4.5 Chronicled Wish banner: What is it?
The 4.5 update is also introducing a new type of banner called the Chronicled Wish Banner. It uses Intertwined Fates to pull from. This banner allows players to obtain certain rerun characters and weapons. Unlike other banners, the weapons and characters are both included in the same banner, which is similar to the standard wish banner.
“Chronicled Wish” Rules & FAQ
Dear Traveler,
During Version 4.5, a new type of Event Wish: “Chronicled Wish” will become available. We’ve gathered some questions that might better explain the rules of this new type of Wish.More Details: https://t.co/atBbCRnYff#GenshinImpact pic.twitter.com/C5BLcM41UN

The Fate system applies to the Chronicled Wish banner, similar to the weapons banner. The players can choose the 5-star they want in the banner and if they receive a 5-star that was not their choice they will get a Fate point. This Fate point will ensure that the next 5-star they receive will be the one they chose. The Fate system receives an upgrade in the Chronicled Wish banner, as the original Fate system required 2 Fate points instead of just 1.
The Chronicled Wish banner will be a permanent stay although the characters and weapons will keep on changing with each update. There is also more to lookout for in Genshin’s future as the Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino will be making her debut as a playable character soon.
