SUMMARY
- Damian Priest successfully retained his World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Backlash.
- Despite his victory against Jey Uso, it seems that all is not good between him and The Judgment Day, and the end of this faction is pretty near.
WWE Backlash probably came as a wind of fresh air for the company, and France gave the organization a great welcome. While the crowd was hot throughout the show, the way they reacted to Jey Uso’s entrance before his match against Damian Priest was truly special. In fact, many are considering it to be one of the best entrances in recent history.
After this exceptional reception to Main Event Jey Uso, things started off pretty well in the ring too, as the fan-favorite quickly took control over the match. But Priest was able to make a comeback, as he used everything in his arsenal against The Bloodline’s former member. Both performers were having a blast inside the ring until The Judgment Day interfered.

Despite Priest‘s instructions to not interfere in the World Heavyweight Championship bout, the heels made their way to the ring, and even Damian Priest was not happy about it. In fact, the distractions from his own teammates were about to cost Priest his championship, as he was hardly able to save himself from losing to Jey.
Uso took advantage of the arguments between the faction, but in the end, his attempts were not enough to go over the numbers. After a hard-hitting match, the 41-year-old in-ring star was eventually able to pin Jey Uso and retain the prestigious title that he won after pinning Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40.

But what happened after his win was really unexpected, as Damian stopped his teammates from attacking his opponent. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh were attacking Uso after the match ended, but the champion stopped them and pushed Balor to a corner. This momentary interaction led to speculation that they might split, but it didn’t happen, and they ended the match by standing tall with each other inside the squared circle.
WWE Universe is looking forward to The Judgment Day’s split
As soon as the friction between the faction happened at Backlash, fans took note of it, and the WWE Universe is looking forward to The Judgment Day‘s split. Sharing how this might be the beginning of the end of this historic stable, someone from the audience wrote, “Seeds planted for Damian Priest’s face turn.” (Via: X)
Slamming the World Heavyweight Champion for grabbing his teammate during the event in France, another member of the community said, “WHY HE GRAB FINN BALOR LIKE THIS BRO.” “Finn vs priest in future,” a fan commented while putting out the possibility of a feud between the members of this faction.
Looking at the kind of comments the WWE Universe has been sharing, it’s evident that they’re highly interested in watching the group breakup. But when will the Triple H-led promotion finally pull the trigger on this storyline? Only the future knows the answer, but whenever it happens, it’s surely going to be the start of a historic rivalry between these stars.
