Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have been in competition for far too long. For a long time, Hamilton and Verstappen’s extraordinary skills have left people picking teams. Nevertheless, for Giancarlo Fisichella, it seems he has already picked his team. Verstappen may have only just started his career compared to Hamilton but he is already making the buzz that took Hamilton years to achieve.
There is no surprise that the Brit and the Dutchman have taken digs at each other throughout the 2023 season. Since Hamilton felt threatened by Red Bull’s dominance, he asked FIA to slow them down from developing their next year’s car. However, Verstappen did not take too long to take a dig at Hamilton’s dominance as a comparison.
With the two only going at each other the whole time, it’s no surprise that people have been picking and choosing sides. While some prefer Verstappen’s dominance over Lewis Hamilton, some think the Brit is more experienced. Although there is no exact answer to who is better than whom, Fernando Alonso‘s ex-teammate has his own preferences.
Max Verstappen gets prioritized over Lewis Hamilton
Since this new rivalry has surfaced in the sport, the ex-drivers are often heard supporting a favorable driver or speaking in favor of one. However, when it came down to Fisichella picking drivers for a dream team for his own Formula 1 team, the Italian seemed to have already made up his mind.
When having a questionnaire round with the Italian Corriere Della Sera, Fisichella was asked who would he prefer to be the team leader in his dream team. Fisichella, nevertheless had an answer ready. He said,
“Verstappen. Max has something extra and gives the impression of driving with one hand.”

While Hamilton has been considered one of the “legends” of the sport, Max Verstappen’s dominance has left people wanting to watch more. Verstappen has led his team to immense success in these two years. Furthermore, he has won two world championships and is on his way to his third. His skills have earned Red Bull 13 consecutive wins this season.
On the other hand, Hamilton has won his team 8 consecutive Constructors Championships. While he does have more achievements, Max is considered to be on his way to beat him. The Red Bull team has increased their gap so far from every other team.
However, people have voiced how Max won’t win after the 2026 regulations. As the team carries on to victories, Verstappen collects more fans to his name. Hamilton, nevertheless, continues to struggle to catch on.
