SUMMARY
- Fans have realized that BigDawsTv, Dawson Gurley could make a comeback as Klay Thompson's impersonator at Dallas' American Airlines Center.
- Gurley received a lifetime ban from the Chase Center after entering the arena as Thompson.
A few years ago, Klay Thompson was at the peak of his form helping the Golden State Warriors achieve milestones we’ve never seen before. As an individual, Thompson also had a fair share of his own records such as most points scored in a single quarter and most three-pointers made in a game. According to Thompson, having impersonators of yourself is the biggest indicator that you’ve made it in life.
Ironically, these comments were made after Thompson had learned about his very own impersonator. And in all fairness, who wouldn’t want to be the 4x NBA Champion? He’s got all the accolades and luxury in the world but still chooses to spend time with his dog, Rocco on a boat. However, his impersonator also lives quite a wealthy lifestyle.
Why was BigDawsTv banned from the Chase Center?
Firstly, who is BigDawsTv? He’s a famous YouTuber who goes by the name Dawson Gurley. He commenced his journey as a contest creator back in 2012 and quickly rose to fame for his hilarious public pranks, challenges, and daily vlogs. Gurley also had a striking resemblance to Klay Thompson of the Warriors. Dawson would attend various Warriors games but he would eventually get banned from the Chase Center after he entered the arena as Thompson himself.
Dawson even managed to make it onto the 2022 NBA Finals court to shoot a couple of warm-up shots. It wasn’t long before the authorities discovered that he was not who he claimed to be. Chase Center ended up issuing a lifetime ban for the YouTube star. For what it’s worth, even media personnel fell for his trap and thought he was the Warriors legend.
“Fake” Klay Thompson can attend Dallas Mavericks’ games
Now that Klay Thompson has parted ways with the Warriors, fans acknowledged the fact that Gurley could possibly make a comeback as his impersonator on the sidelines. Thompson recently signed a three-year $50 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks in pursuit of a fifth title.
