Since the start of the 2023 season, it seems that all the Red Bull drivers have a target on their backs. After Nyck de Vries’ was replaced by Daniel Ricciardo, all eyes are on Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver has held his spot at AlphaTauri for three whole seasons and has not budged from his seat. However, with Nyck’s departure, it was questioned if Yuki would also fall to the same fate.
However, Yuki’s performance has only brought delight to his boss. While one of his best results this season has only been a mere P10, he has been the only one to get the team some points. Although after Daniel’s return to the team, the Australian has found ways to be ahead of his Japanese teammate. However, Ricciardo has also failed to finish inside the points with Yuki finishing P10 at Belgium. Being the only one giving his team a few points before the summer break.
But with growing anticipation surrounding Ricciardo’s sudden return, Yuki has also garnered a few people following his performance. However, it seems that Yuki might keep his AlphaTauri seat even for the 2024 season. Although he might not end up getting a chance to climb up to Red Bull yet.
Will Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo Be In AlphatTauri in 2024?
But the same cannot be said for Daniel Ricciardo. According to Formula 1, Red Bull’s plan for the next two seasons, Ricciardo can be promoted to Red Bull. It all depends on Sergio Perez’s performance. Until now, although the Red Bull team has seen some glorious days, they have also seen a struggling Perez. His failed attempts at even winning a podium until the last races have the Red Bull team ticked off.
However, it seems like the Red Bull bosses have put their heads together and decided to have better drivers on their side of the grid. If Perez’s performance declines after the summer break, Ricciardo will take over the RB seat. Nevertheless, if the Mexican does a good job at Red Bull he gets to have his seat in 2024.
This means for Yuki Tsunoda only singular options of AlphaTauri. while he is doing an extremely good job according to the bosses, he will have to stick it in with Red Bull Junior’s team to really be promoted. However, it still marks a good opportunity for the rookie Japanese driver as he confirms a fourth season with AlphaTauri.
