Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen did not have the best weekend of the season. The Singapore Grand Prix giving the two the maximum heat left the Bulls struggling. Nonetheless, the driver fought back, although not the best fight all season, to get the team some points.
Both the driver started their race in P11 and P13 but they failed to get out of Q3. However, during the race, the two managed to bring the car to get some points and stay ahead in the championship. Although this race failure was a hard pill to swallow, Checo Perez had a few good things to say about Max Verstappen.
After winning 10 races in a row, Max Verstappen was beaten by Ferrari. However, Checo has seen the hunger that makes Verstappen the talent he is. So when he was asked how it is to be his teammate, Checo said, “It is tough, you know, because the guy is like a machine. He delivers practice after practice through the weekend, doesn’t make mistakes.”
“He’s driving at a very high level and we have to respect that and I have an admiration for what he’s currently doing and making, but at the same time, it’s a great challenge to have”

Sergio believes that Max Verstappen is a one-of-a-kind driver. He has won almost all the races of the season so far. With Perez only winning two against his driver, however, he has stuck by in second in the Driver’s Champion. As the two prepare for Japan, it seems they have no backup plans to their number one plan, winning.
Sergio Perez talks about the issues with his car amidst claims it is made to suit Max Verstappen
After a horrible weekend, it seems that the Red Bull drivers are pulling through. The Dutchman seemed to have given up on the weekend after seeing a horrible start to it. Nonetheless, Max Verstappen has proven his brilliance throughout the season. The driver gave his all from the very start of 2023. Red Bull won 15 races in a row this season. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen broke another record this season with 10 consecutive wins.
However, Sergio Perez has seemed to still struggle with the car. Although he worked in the factory and made it more “natural” for him to drive, he seems to be having issues.
The Mexican driver said, quoted by RaceFans, “I’m definitely feeling that I’m going back to where I started in terms of how I was driving the car, I think we made a lot of progress in the last few races in that regard, we did some set-up adjustments as well to adapt. He dismissed speculation that Red Bull intended their car to suit his teammate’s driving style. I wouldn’t say that it’s the car designed around Max,”

However, Sergio Perez has been a great teammate to the Dutchman. While many have failed to shine next to him, Perez has only fought through. While he continues to maintain his 2nd position in the championship standings, the coast seems clear for him.
