Formula 1, as exciting and thrilling as it is as a sport to watch can turn just as dangerous in a matter of seconds yet the drivers are seen putting their best foot forward to follow their hunger and passion, however, Lando Norris ended on the bad side of the sport after his major crash which left him remembering his mom and giving her a heartfelt shoutout.
While F1 has bought people close and has also increased its viewership, the drivers have the same amount of pressure to not just do well but do it without being seriously harmed. This can cause a lot of issues from anxiety to hypertension however, the drivers show strong willpower to be able to drive at 220 MPH and fight against each other to win.
Lando Norris felt one of the serious crashes which may have been one of the moments that caused the Briton to get very vulnerable as he talked about his mother in an interview. He gave her a tiny shoutout and said,
lando: hi, mom. I wanted to say a big thank u for all of the times u dealt with me and all the help & support that u gave me when I was a little boy to make me into the person that I am now. […] thanks, mom, I love u. I’m sorry I don’t text u as much as I should, and I miss u 🧡 pic.twitter.com/yL2D2doXoB

“Hi, mom. I wanted to say a big thank u for all of the times u dealt with me and all the help & support that u gave me when I was a little boy to make me into the person that I am now. […] Thanks, Mom, I love u. I’m sorry I don’t text u as much as I should, and I miss you.”
Norris suddenly lost control and smashed right into the barriers which caused him to completely blank out for a while as his team kept asking if he was okay, after a few minutes the driver replied yes I’m okay and could visibly be seen shaking and was immediately rushed into to the ER.
Lando Norris does this one important thing before every race
Lando Norris, just like all the other drivers is very aware of all the repercussions that exist in being a Formula 1 driver. The drivers have to not only consider the many dangers in the sport but also the toll it takes on one’s mental and physical health considering the fast speeds and the horrible conditions that they have to bear.
However, he follows one rule before every race, while he prepares for his race, there is another important thing he does before the start of the race. This season, the driver won 7 podiums being the only driver after Fernando Alonso to win a number of podiums.
Nonetheless, he made sure he called his parents before each of them. Like a routine, the driver has followed this one important thing before every race, calling his parents to tell them he loves them. He talked about it saying, “I always call my parents, my parents call me. Still, my mom wants to hear my voice before I go and race. So that’s number one.”
The drivers may never know what could happen during the race, and as frightening as it may sound, the drivers prepare themselves mentally and physically to face no matter what comes at them.
