Max Verstappen has been performing incredibly lately. Ever since he won his first Championship, he seems unstoppable. There is no doubt that he will be winning this year’s Championship as well. Snooker world no. 1, Ronnie O’Sullivan thinks that having an athlete like Max is necessary in all sports.

Max Verstappen has won 12 out of the 14 races so far. Although fans feel that this level of domination is not good for the sport, Ronnie O’Sullivan feels different.

Ronnie O’Sullivan said “Every sport needs one, like Verstappen, he’s winning everything, people just want to see ‘is he going to lose today?’. People want to watch the real dominant players to see if somebody can beat them. Snooker needs one of them.”

Ronnie O’Sullivan thinks that a dominant athlete such as Max Verstappen, will be good for the sport as it encourages fans to switch on their TV to see if the athlete would lose. However, most fans don’t agree with this logic.

The 2021 Formula 1 season was one of the most viewed seasons in the history of the sport. The intense rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton made each race unpredictable. Since Max Verstappen started dominating, the viewership has gone down.

How many records has Max Verstappen broken?

Max Verstappen is the youngest driver to drive a race in Formula 1. He made his F1 debut at 17 years old. Usually, drivers come into the sport at around 20. However, Red Bull had seen enough from the Dutch driver to give him a seat in their junior team. He was also the youngest driver ever to score points in Formula 1.

A year after making his debut, he was promoted to the Red Bull senior team. He was promoted in the middle of the 2016 Formula 1 season, replacing Daniil Kvyat. His first race was the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.

At the time, Mercedes were dominating the grid. However, they were involved in an intense civil war. Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were battling race after race that season. During the Spanish Grand Prix, both the Mercedes drivers took themselves out of the race. This paved the way for Max Verstappen to win the race while breaking the record bringing the youngest driver to win a race.

Since then, Red Bull has helped Max Verstappen develop as a driver. Today he has 2 Championships and is on his way to a 3rd. While doing so, he has broken several records with the team.

In 2022, he broke the record for most wins in a season with 15. During the same season, he also broke the record for most points scored in a race with 454. At the time, the 2022 Formula 1 season was his most successful Formula 1 season.

This year, he has been more dominant than the last. After just 14 races, he has won 12 while the other 2 were won by his teammate. This year, Verstappen has already broken the record for most consecutive wins with 10. His stream may get longer if he continues his winning streak in Singapore.

What other records will Max Verstappen go on to break? Post your answers in the comment section below.
