Sergio Perez made a buzz during the race but for all the wrong reasons. The Red Bull driver did not have the best time at the Singapore weekend. While other drivers battled and recorded their best lap times, Verstappen and Sergio were left out of the equation.
Max Verstappen was also beaten by rookie Liam Lawson during qualifications who left him in Q3. While the Red Bulls were not up to par, the two definitely caused some trouble and got away with it. And Sergio Perez was caught in the act during the race.
Sergio Perez was driving in behind one of the Willaims’ cars. Alex Albon was right in front of him with great pace. Albon was about the turn right around the corner, when Sergio Perez came from the back and crashed on the side of Albon.
This sent the Thai driver straight into the corner as Perez gained one more position. The situation was not investigated and Perez got away with it. After he knowingly turned into the driver with no space to take over, fans announced him as the first public enemy.

Fans talked about how much they hated the driver and how unfair it was. After ruining a driver’s race the Mexican finished inside the points. The fan commented, “Just know that Checo Perez is public enemy number one for me at the moment.” Everyone else took to the comment section to agree with the statement. However, this was not the first time Red Bull got away with pulling illegal moves this weekend.
Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen get blasted for getting away with illegal moves
Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda were the two drivers who were caught impeding other drivers. The qualification round was from the get-go. Every other team except for Red Bull was doing well. The Red Bulls were slower than usual and were struggling with the car as they cursed back and forth about the issues with it. And while the Bulls were not doing well, it seemed they had no plans of letting others have a good qualifying either.
However, Max Verstappen took it upon himself to slow down a few drivers. During the qualifications, Verstappen was caught impeding not just one but a few drivers. He also purposely stopped in the middle of the pit lane for a long time holding back Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
Both the Mercedes had incredible pace and were on one of their best laps. Nonetheless, with Verstappen stopping them, the two qualified in a lower place than they expected. Yuki Tsunoda too impeded a driver and then was the victim of the Dutchman.

Although the drivers were caught and had to listen to the verdict, Verstappen was let loose completely. The driver was the only one present at the hearing while his team bosses were nowhere to be seen. After a while, it was announced that the Dutchman received a second reprimand and a fine for impeding a driver. He got away with no grid penalty. This left a lot of fans angered as they called out the team for corruption.
