After Red Bull, the McLaren Formula 1 team has been overwhelming to their rivals recently. Drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been demonstrating sheer resilience and outperforming the rest of the grid.
After scoring four consecutive podium finishes and rookie driver Piastri winning the Sprint Race at the Qatar Grand Prix, they are fiercely competing for P2 in the Constructors’ Championship. But the drivers’ relationship goes beyond the competition and being teammates.
A video that has surfaced on the internet shows an adorable interaction between the duo. The Aussie is seen recommending Norris to get a pet dog, and this is what he said, “I don’t have the time to get a pet and I’d have to bring the pet with me.” To this, Oscar Piastri was quick to reply with, “If you get a dog, it’d be friends with Roscoe.”
Oscar: “Why don’t you get a pet?”
Lando: “I don’t have the time to get a pet and I’d have to bring the pet with me.”

Those who are aware of what goes on in and around Formula 1 are familiar with the name Roscoe. He is the furry companion of none other than the seven-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton.
Roscoe is an English bulldog and recently turned 11 years old! He has been a part of Hamilton’s family for over a decade and just like his father, he follows a strict vegan diet. Apart from that, he is a paddock favorite.
Oscar Piastri demands action from FIA against George Russell’s overtake at COTA
Oscar Piastri started the Sprint race from the fifth position on the grid on Saturday during the United States GP. However, the Australian driver started cautiously, disappointing everyone.
When he had pushed his tires to the limit too quickly, he ended up with further challenges as drivers behind him pursued him with no mercy. Amidst the turmoil, a twist of fate presented itself for Mercedes driver George Russell.

The Briton grabbed the chance to pass the McLaren driver. His desire got the better of him, and he went beyond the racetrack. George Russell was given a five-second penalty for going outside the lines.
He just dropped from seventh to eighth in the race standings as a result of it. By the time the checkered flag flew at the end of the race, Oscar Piastri found himself in the ninth spot. But the Aussie did not take that well.
He said, “The one with George was clear, the stewards gave him a penalty for it. It’s just a question in that racing situation whether the penalty was right and whether it sets a precedent for the future.”
He is adamant that drivers might be inclined to go around the track’s limits since they know they can handle the consequences later. Since the integrity of the sport is at risk, Piastri supports the FIA enacting harsher sanctions to stop these risky maneuvers.
