The 2024 season started with the second race held on 9 March in Saudi Arabia. Both the Red Bull drivers have managed to end up at the top of the podium. It has been a successful start for Red Bull. However, apart from racing the team has been facing hindrances internally. Helmut Marko the racing director at Red Bull might face suspension from Red Bull for allegedly leaking the text between Horner and the female co-worker.
After the news of Helmut Marko’s potential suspension news, Christian Horner spoke about Max Verstappen’s situation. Horner spoke about the possibility of the Dutch driver to leave Red Bull. Verstappen has a contract till 2028 however, he can leave the team anytime if the racing director Marko leaves.
Max Verstappen could leave Red Bull
The latest development on Max Verstappen’s future with the team leaves everyone on the edge of their seats. There is a possibility of the three-time world champion leaving Red Bull. Christian Horner believes that he can’t make anyone stay who doesn’t want to. He said, “It’s like anything in life, you can’t force somebody to be somewhere just because of a piece of paper.” he also added, “If somebody didn’t want to be in this team, then we’re not going to force somebody against their will to be here.”
The news of departure was not what the team was expecting. Even through all the tough times the team has been facing, Max Verstappen has been consistent with his performance. He has finished on the podium in both the races that are held till now during the 2024 season. However, his performance is overshadowed by the troubled situation of the team.

Christian Horner further added, “It is absolutely fine with Max, he’s working well within the team. There’s no tension, there’s no stress. You can see how relaxed he is around the garage with everybody in the team and that’s translating to his performance on track as well. So we don’t see any issues with Max. I’m aware of all that noise, but it hasn’t distracted the team from the job, and we are one team now.”
While Max would want to hold on to his seat at Red Bull, that has helped him win multiple championships. It would be hard to tell if he would go against his father to stay at Red Bull. After all the recent controversy within the team, it’s hard to pay attention to their achievements and Max would not want that for himself. only time will tell about his future in the team.
