McLaren has constantly been adding more names to their roster of partners. This has given the team enough resources to develop the car. We saw these resources take effect on the car during the 2023 season. Now, it has been announced that the team will be taking on yet another sponsor before going into the 2024 season.
A lot of teams in F1 have a sportswear brand as their partner. Puma is one of the most common partners in this category. However, McLaren has chosen a different brand as their sportswear partner for the 2024 season.
McLaren adds another brand to their list of partners for the 2024 season
In their latest announcement, McLaren is welcoming Alpinestars as their latest partners. They will be the team’s official sportswear partner for the 2024 season. Alpinestars is not to be confused with Alpine who have a team in F1. Both are completely different.
Alpinestars is based out of Italy and has been providing sportswear for a number of sports for a long time. They are very popular in MotoGP already. Before making their deal with McLaren, they were sponsoring 2 F1 teams, Alpine and Haas. Now with McLaren adding to their list of F1 partners, Alpinestars can expect some more popularity in 4-wheel racing.

The company is based out of Italy and has been providing quality outwear for athletes and consumers all around the world since 1963. There are still a number of brands that are more popular than Alpinestars. the brand is slowly climbing up the ranks to become one of the best.
How Zak Brown transformed a depleting McLaren F1 outfit
Over the last few years, we have seen McLaren add a number of partners to their brand. There is no doubt that the CEO, Zak Brown is behind this success. Brown joined the team as their Executive Director in 2016. At the time, the team was at an all-time low. In 2018, he became the CEO of McLaren.
During the 2017 season, McLaren had only 24 partners. This was a considerably low number. However, Zak started his mission to bring back McLaren into the spotlight. Today, McLaren has 48 brands as their partners. This has given them a lot of resources to develop the car.
We saw some of these resources play their part in development during the 2023 season. Within a short span of time, we saw McLaren struggle to finish in the points to fighting for podiums. there is no doubt that this increase in partners has helped the team acquire enough resources to make these developments happen.

Their performance in 2023 alone has attracted a couple of other sponsors. While Alpinestars was one of them, the other was a major one as they were able to convince Monster to leave Mercedes with whom they have been associated for 14 years. For the 2024 season, McLaren will have a few more stickers than the 2023 season. This will in turn help the team develop their car.
It will be interesting to see how McLaren develops their car for the 2024 season. Some say that they could start challenging Red Bull for race wins and the Championship. However, Red Bull is currently still in a league of their own.
