The 2023 Formula 1 season has witnessed Lewis Hamilton majorly leading the charge when it came to off-track rumors, thanks to the seven-time world champion’s mysterious association with Colombian singer and ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ fame, Shakira. The pair have spent an awful lot of time together in the last few months during and post-Grand Prix events.
Furthermore, the steadily evolving dating rumors blew out of proportion following the Belgian Grand Prix, as many claimed to have spotted Hamilton spending more than one night in Shakira’s villa on the extravagant island of Ibiza. The secret visits were eventually justified by a Spanish paparazzo and Hamilton’s driver as well.
Hence, amidst the unexpected Jimmy Butler and Tom Cruise cameos, there was finally a bit of consolidation in the Hamilton-Shakira love tale. What’s more interesting is the Briton’s change of mind in recent years, which remained an element of concern during his prolonged relationship with Nicole Scherzinger.
Despite being good around kids, Scherzinger had a boyfriend who wasn’t too keen on having one. However, things have changed now, with the Mercedes star wanting kids and Shakira is currently under the spotlight. While it remains to be seen whether Shakira would be happy to fulfill Hamilton’s wish, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this particular report leaves his ex-girlfriend jealous.
Lewis Hamilton never wanted kids with ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger
During an interview in 2014, Hamilton publicly acknowledged his reluctance to have kids with the American singer despite spending nearly seven years together. “She’s amazing with kids, I think we’re both pretty good with kids… but we don’t have time for that at the moment,” he said as reported by The Economic Times.
“There are so many things we want to do, but the great thing is that we support each other with it. All in good time. She’s still massively young and I’m still a young man. With our careers people perhaps don’t understand that she lives in LA, I live in Monaco and we’re in and out all the time.
“Schedules are changing all the time. She’s doing Cats now, which means she’s in the UK for the next two months, and I go away and do my training,” the seven-time world champion concluded. Hamilton is inching toward his retirement from racing altogether, and this could well be the perfect time for the Briton to have a family.
But, will Hamilton’s family involve Shakira, or does the future hold another woman who will replace the Colombian singer as the F1 legend’s life partner?
