Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have been a duo people can not get enough of. The two have built their own success in Formula 1. However, while Max Verstappen has only now begun on his journey to success, Hamilton has already achieved it all. But with the two still maintaining their rivalry on tracks after 2021, people are picking sides.
It was not long ago that Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen brought up their rivalry back in the 2023 season. It was when the Brit asked FIA to have better regulations which won’t give a team an advantage. While his pleas were shut down, the Dutchman went on to point out the Mercedes star’s dominance.
As the two continue fighting on and off-track over their championship titles, everyone else has sat down to pick their sides. Some have chosen to support the seven-time champion while others believe Max deserves it all. Only recently, an ex-Renault driver picked sides when asked between the two for his dream team.
As the 2023 season sees Verstappen the winner of the championship title, Hamilton has not given up his fight for the 8th title. The rivals have also been wanted in the same team by curious fans for quite a while now. Even Christian Horner was approached with the question of having Hamilton and Verstappen on the same team. However, his answer to it was quite a hilarious one.
Lewis Hamilton becomes a laughing stock again when compared to Max Verstappen
With the picking and choosing sides, the Brit and the Dutchman have been put in the spotlight again. This time not just a team principal or an ex-driver chose a side between the two. Eddie Jordan, who once had his own Jordan GP team in Formula 1 was asked between the two. And luckily enough, he had an answer for it too.
Just like every other person in F1, Jordan also fell victim to this question. When Jordan was on the episode of Formula For Success Podcast with David Coulthard, he was asked the question. Coulthard asked Jordan if he believes Lewis Hamilton is “too old” to go against Max Verstappen.
Quoted by Crash.net, Jordan, in reply, said, “Yes. I think he will still win grands prix but he will need certain things to fall in place with him. Max is at the sweet spot for age, experience, belief, knowledge, and the people he’s been around with the team and I think in the same car, right at this moment as we speak with the same ages it has to be Max.”
Jordan believes that while Hamilton has more experience than the Red Bull star, his age has caught up to him. The Brit who believes he “still has a few years in him” might still not have a chance to equal Max Verstappen, let alone beat him. While some have kept their hope up for the 2026 regulations to see what is in store for Verstappen.
