Jimmy Kimmel is one of the most popular talk show hosts in the world. This week, Daniel Ricciardo is scheduled to be his guest on the show. This is happening just a week before the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
With the Las Vegas Grand Prix just a week away, the promotions for the race have already started. Usually, when the drivers come to the US for the Austin GP, one of the popular drivers usually makes an appearance in one of the talk shows. However, this year none of them did before the Austin GP. However, Daniel Ricciardo will be a guest at the Jimmy Kimmel show a week before the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is turning out to be one of the most fabulous events held by F1. The organizers have already spent tens of millions of dollars in getting the venue ready for the Grand Prix. It has been announced that F1 will have an opening ceremony before the start of the weekend. This has never been done before in the history of the sport.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix will also be F1’s first midnight race. Nightlife is very popular in Vegas. On top of this, having the race at midnight will also be convenient for viewers who are tuning in to watch the race from the UK. This has made a midnight race possible for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
F1 fulfills Daniel Ricciardo’s 6-year wish with 2023 Las Vegas GP
Back in 2017, Liberty Media had just purchased the commercial rights for F1 for around $4 billion dollars. After his purchase, the media had asked the F1 drivers about their wishlist for the new owners. Daniel Ricciardo was the first one to answer this question. He quickly said race in Vegas. Lewis Hamilton was next to follow him as he said Florida.
It seems as though Liberty Media has heard them out and is fulfilling Hamilton and Ricciardo’s wishlist. When Daniel found out about the race in Vegas, he said “I was going to retire… I will not no more.” As usual, there was this big Daniel Ricciardo smile on his face as he said it. It’s fair to say that most F1 drivers are excited to race on the streets of Vegas.

After the end of last year, Daniel Ricciardo’s dream of driving in Vegas almost went down the drain as he was bought out of his contract with McLaren. Although he was picked up by Red Bull as their reserve driver, it did not give him a seat on the grid. However, When Helmut Marko decided to replace Nyck de Vries. Ricciardo was the first driver in line. This brought back hopes for Daniel Ricciardo to drive in Vegas.
The Aussie has also been performing well for AlphaTauri. He delivered the team’s best result of the season during the Mexico City Grand Prix where he qualified 4th and finished 7th. Although his race was affected in Brazil during the first lap incident, his pace during the race matched that of the top 5 drivers.
It will be interesting to see where AlphaTauri will rank for the Vegas GP. If Daniel Ricciardo is able to put in a decent performance, it will be entertaining to watch him celebrate after.
